Been meaning to put up the build thread for my paintjob for a while, so here goes.

We sprayed the car in 4 days at James's unit, Wicked Wheels in Guildford.

Basically James's boss has told him not to do any more resprays at the Wheelshed, as every time it happens the cars tend to be there far longer than promised, so the car had to be ready to be driven home on Monday evening.

The paint cost £119, and so the whole job cost under £200 in total.

Plus my spare ATV box which I've given to James for making it possible.

Friday

We started at 8am on Friday morning, with general stripping of all the bits, dash seats, belts, lights etc.

By lunchtime we'd progressed to scotching and degreasing the paintwork both inside and out, with the help of various people who'd popped down the wheelshed, some doing 10 mins, others helping out for an hour or so.

We then moved the car into the workshop and put her up on axle stands.

And proceeded to start removing all the sound deadening from under the seats and the bulkhead.

While we were doing this, Simon prepped the replacement wing

and James and Glen put up the polythene sheeting to minimize dust as much as possible.

On Saturday we then set about the exterior.

We finished painting about 9pm Saturday night and then left it to dry for till Sunday morning.

On the Sunday we then painted the doors and tailgate, didn't really take many photos of it though

On Easter Monday we then set about putting it all back together again.

And I drove her home at about 7pm that night.

Bumpers and spoiler were then done the following weekend and she now looks like this

And now the thanks part, some are users on here, but most are not.

Although a lot of mates did little bits to help, whether 10mins or an hour or so of prepping, which was very helpful, the core of the work was done by about 6 or so people.

Sally aka Sally_Healey for prepping the interior almost single handedly and generally putting up with me and my single mined obsession with my car that weekend.

And finally the legend that is James aka The Fuzz, who worked something like 60 hours over the 4 days to get it done, whilst treating it like it were his own car at all times.

I wasn't slacking, I'd been scrubbing and cleaning that God Damned interior for nearly 12 hours solid, my back ached, I was green and my fingers were sore I deserved a break

The weather was awful that weekend, so soooooooo cold, James did really well to get the shed up to the temperature that he did to help the paint cure.

Good job done by all I think, well apart from you Rob who just sat there watching and taking pics all weekend

4 days? Thats shocking, we can turn around a car (full colour change inside and out) in under 36 hours :p Under 24 if you just want the exterior and door shuts done.

Looks good though, not sure on the wheels wheels. Never liked white wheel though.

I like a bit of change, the Qube worked well as a sleeper, but the shell was completely stripped out when I got it, ie not even headlining, and I just loved the colour when I saw the Porsche GT3 RS at the Essen Motor Show last year.

And I've always wanted a full on stripped out racer

It's Porsche Signalgruen, aka Signal Green, which is the colour used in the GT3 RS.

I did a photoshop of a Polo a few months ago in that colour but kept the black bumpers...looked pretty nice with a CC'd half cage.
