can someone please help me out

I'm rebuilding a polo MH engine and i was wondering weather a g40 head gasket would fit?

would anyone recomend a brand to use even on teh standard gasket?

Better to use a MLS gasket from a Bora 1,4

You will have to use the standard gasket on the MH, the G40 one is overkill, and possibly thicker thus lowering compression. Not sure a metal headgasket will fit as the MH has valve cutouts in the pistons I think.

well my its not a standard MH engine

its a mk1 golf head (GF)( combustion chamber in head)

with a MH bottom end with GF pistons (flat)in it = a stronger bottom end to a GF block as it has a better oil pump in it

teh head is being decked co i can bring the compression back up.

Gaz why do you say the G40 gasket is overkill? can you explain this?
