anyone got any tips or pics on porting the g40 charger. all i can find on google is pics of g60 ones and they look a bit different.

from what I've found so far there is very little to actually port, or am i missing something?

i would be interested in finding a bit more out on this subject too. also, what happens to a charger to make it stage 4/ mix blend or whatever etc... obvioulsy it increases performance/bhp but dont know how.

if you see inside a full blend - there is a HUUGE amount of material removed!

my old g-lader. was told its a jabba stage 4. Looking at it they have wasted quite alot of material on the outlet side.

doesnt look much different to how mine was before i started porting mine!

i saw a pick of a ported g60 charger and the fins on the outlet had been taken down loads, looked really thin. I'm opting to taper mind down so that it will hopefully retain strength whilst flowing more smoothly. the only other thing i was planning to do was remove all of the casting marks on the outlet.

well I've finished porting my charger outlet, but I've still got to plish it up and get it smooth. will hopefully get some pics up at the weekend, then you can all say I've done it wrong!

I've gone for porting something along the lines of the g60 pic tav put up, so hopefully all will be well!

Jeepers! I don't know if I could bring myself to port out a charger that much on my first attempt. I have totally standard charger in my cupboard, going to get someone who knows what they are doing to fettle it. Might try and do my own in future if I get some spares.

i used a combination of small metal files and a rotary tool to smooth it all out. not difficult to do, you just have to be carefull not to damage anything and make sure you clean the swarf out.

Porting is not something you should do if you not seriously know what you are doing....

Remember all bearings and seals need to be renewed after the porting

Leave it to the pro's, it is not that expensive compared to a standard rebuild

As for RS2 porting, no serious rebuilder in Germany do not to them anymore
