Split Rims

Featured Replies

For the love of God help me!!!

I want split rims but anything but the bbs rx... they bend and are mondo soft. So what are the split rim alternatives?

- BBS RC.. much stronger but can't seem to find them in 15"

- Fox R4 Super Silver.. too bright for my liking... don't know much about Fox and looking at that one my centre caps wouldnt transfer on to it...

Any others??

Jeees,

Theres literally hundreds, if not thousands of different split rims you can buy. Then theres companies like Image who will custom build you some if you have the cash.

You will need to be a bit more specific what your after. Like what design do you like and that.

As above!

Need to specify what your after, or just look through wheel forums, sites!

BB RXII are soft?

BBS RC aren't split rims, at least I don't think so after looking on google images?

rx11 are the mk5 gti version in 15inch available in 16inch too in 4 and 5 stud

rc as you say tav are one piece, found on anniversary mk4 golfs!

bbs rf

bbs rm

bbs rs

there are loads of places who sell other brands too

WRD HTN etc etc

you dont want image rims though, way too common :ninja:

I assume he means the old RC's that were two piece, found on bmw's, not sure if iv'e ever seen them in a 4 stud fitment.

Want a style like the RX i.e. split rim or cross thread whatever they call it. Something closer to that design...

I know now.. well after searching that "split rim" is an umbrella term... but anyhow the RX, RC kind of design...

The closest I've got so far is the RC and the Fox R4

and what makes it all harder is finding that 4 stud - 15" fitment...

but in the worst case.. what would I need to change if I had to go 5 stud?

anyone used Fox before? Whats the verdict?

was looking at the RF... but not too sure about them..

Tav... RX will bend like a soft erection in a crash and pot holes are not too kind on them in the long term.. well that was my experience... the RC are moulded in a different way.. which makes them stronger but pointless to manufacture.. the RC design is similar to the RX ergo 'split rim'

cheers dubheads

Well at least they won't be brittle....

I can't say I've ever heard anyone complain about RX's before.

Keskin KT-4's?

If you've got the money... BBS RM/RS' with Radinox lips wouldn't bend to easy... :unibrow:

I aint a pimp so that rules out the RM/RS

O_o the Keskin KT4 look the biz but they have a stud pattern... bleeuugghh look like RXII

Will keep them in mind though..

How expensive would it be to custom make?? Do you reckon performance alloys could do a set of strong RX look a likes for under £800?

Hmmm

if you check www.ebay.de they have loads of splits! rm's, rs's etc, and tehy are cheaper too, look at schmidt th lines, they are awesome!

I think you're confused!

Split rim is when the wheel is in 2/3 pieces which split up and are bolted together.

Cross-spoke is the style of the wheel (like most BBSs etc).

Custom made alloys usually carry a four digit price tag.

guys i gave up on this one.. ended up gettin me some OZ Superleggeras.. they look the sh**

After all of that eh?

it was too much... all the scrappys i went to were charging too much.. and the wheels would need reconditioning big time.. may be for the other polo later this year we'll see

If youve got money and dont mind doing a bit of searching, BBS RH.

8-)

you should have looked at lenso bsx rims, bbs style without the bbs price tag.

^nah thats too common round here

even on the bimmers

i still done good and beat the bbs price

only £75 per wheel and it meets JAL/TUV standards

so i splashed the rest on some dunlop sp maxx rubber

my budget was adjusted to £200 per wheel max. and I'm laughing
