Was driving home this evening and some stupid idiot pulled out of a roundabout infront of me and has totally fucked my car, attached a pic to this post.

Any idea if they will write this off?

I think it is poss they write it off to be fair :(

the car is still driveable so they might not

i had this with my car last year and they let me repair it privately and keep it

my friend had this and he had to buy his car back for pennies and then repair it

Isn't it just the wing and front bumper and light gone?

I had similar on mk 6n2 and it was fine.. My bonnet bent and front bumper and the lights...

Didn't quite understand first post - were you going round the roundabout when someone pulled out in front of you?

Basically there is a dual carraige way that goes over a round about, both lanes go straight over. There was a car in the left hand lane indicating left so i indicated into the right hand lane and proceeded in my lane accross the round about.

As i got round the round about a ford focus estate pulled out but was positioned very far left almost as though he was going left as i got closer he pulled out so i done a full lock to the right and broke hard. He still didnt see me and carried on going then hit my car.

Funny thing is the old couple in the car were dressed up as though they had been out for the night and the driver did not get out the car but the female (partner did) and took details which i find very strange.

I am pretty sure he had been drinking due to him then stalling after the impact and not getting out the car not even to look at the damage.

iceash didnt cross my mind at the time i was so wound up they were quick to get my details and fuck off, do you think if i tell this to the insurance it will be in my favour?

Doesn't look disimilar to mine, (accident was my fault) luckily my dads mate fixed it for me, sprayed the front wing tis were a dint on the corner of the wing where it meets the indicator he managed to knock that out and fill it, new indicator, managed to firbeglass a new grill surround and finally spray all the body work white, £35 for all of it :-D. yours looks worse than it is from the pics, new wing, new indicator maybe headlight and tcut the bumper is the wing that dented can't you just spray it? oh and the guy who i hit didn't claim for some reason, lucky me :-D

Wouldn't surprise me. I hope he got pulled over on his way home (for having a bashed up car) and the pigs brethalysed him and arrested him.

I hope things turn out ok too quite alot of the cruise evolution guys were on the scene within a minute or so as they tend to meet at toys r us in MK and the roundabout was about 100 meters away from there.

A few may have seen what happened but the others can vouch for my intended direction and what not. Supose one good thing out of this is the stone chips on the bumper will be gone :-D and i will get my alloys refurbed in gun metal black.

The wing is very dented i will try and get some daylight pictures tomorrow a bit of the rear quarter is dented too and I've just started to get a stiff neck hence me being up this late not being able to sleep.

Lets see what happens ill keep all you guys posted?

Btw the headlight survived the crash which i am well happy about as i have just converted them to HID and RHD :-D

Even if they do write it off just buy it back and replace the panels. From the looks of it, doesn't look like a major impact.

I cant belive you didnt phone the cops. I would be one of the first things most people would do.

All she would have to do now is tell the insurance company something diffrent and its your fault instead. Your word for theirs.

And most insurance companies now umm and ahh about fault unless the police are called.

But as Kam says it only looks like a few dented panels and a new clear indicator. unless they caught the wheel and did some suspension damage etc.

Its alrite as i say some of the cruise evolution guys vaugley saw what happened so can vouch for me so hopefully not too much of an issue.

Did hit the wheel but i dont think the suspension is damaged i only lowered it this week :( the alloys need a refurb tho.

What you reckon get em refurbed in gun metal black and get the windows tinted?

Oh yea and the police round here dont care unless they can get money from it, if they can give a speeding ticket they would be straight there.

We will see what they say tonight when i take it to the cruise to show off the war wounds i will just turn around and say "sorry mate but you wernt interested when it happened so why now?"

nope not unless someone is hurt, coppers dont care tbh.

I saw a major smash on the M1 southbound towards J14 no one was hurt but there was a right fuckin mess on the road.

Coppers did not want to know they just sent the highways agency to clean up.

Wow I had the exact same thing a few years back, was in my old mk2 golf driver though so it was written off :( Only good part was that the other driver said 'I'm sorry' before I'd even opened my mouth, I must have looked annoyed or something Payout was good since the guy who came out to evaluate it was into VW's so it just ended up paying for my next car. Still took a couple of months for the money to come through!

I got the indicators and lights from orange tuning but i would suggest to get the same product from another company. Orange tuning dont give a fuck about you once they have your money.

This guy has not admitted liability and its a company car so is gonna be a long process. Got a snotty solicitors letter today accusing me of not submitting my details which is not the case i submitted all info and evidence the day after the accident. The other party is yet to submit anything except for alot of verbal bullshit.

I called the solicitor and basically told him to go fuck ones self and get his facts right. Gotta love those unsocial law school gimps!!!
