thats cool!!!! guesin the silver fox is your dad...lovin the beard hehe

Cool cool. Was just reading Evo magazines RaTCOTY feature at lunch today and they had a Roadsport. They rated it highly...the old low weight + low grip = going not terribly fast but having amazingly large amounts of fun and an involving drive.

I'd like a Caterham some day...though would be tempted to start with a Superlight...naughty...

mid-life crisis mobile, fair play, is that him in the pic belting it round the track

after i read the feature in last months issue i wanted one! they look like loads of fun

Caterhams used to be my dream car, I must have 20 or so 1/18 models of them up in the loft! If you read the build diarys, it makes you want to go out and buy a kit and build yourself :D

My dad has a lotus elise, very similar to the caterham.

I love Caterhams, always wanted to take one out for a blast

Caterhams are coooool!

Caterhams and Lotus's are PROPER sports cars. Built for pure driving fun and excitement.

Even the fairly low powered Roadsport version are pretty quick due to the superb balance and power to weight ratio.

Yes that is him in the pictures, the one with the beard. Those pictures are from Silverstone a couple of days after the 2007 British Grand Prix, keeping the Porsches at bay. :-D

Tav, yeah the low weight of 550kg means it doesn't have a high top end speed due to it being a 1.6, but it does have decent acceleration something like 6 seconds 0 - 60mph. I wouldn't say low grip really, with some Toyo R888 or Yokohama A048 tyres on and it will grip the road pretty well! Having said that, you've got to watch it when it loses grip because it will flick one way then violently back the other way and leave you facing the wrong way.

I think my Dad's been fancying a Lotus Elise for some time now, we'll see if he decides on one.
