Just up the road from me, me and mate saw this 5 series on a drive, its been there for about 5 or so years and has never moved, definetly been SORN'd.

I think its a G reg or something, dark grey. Its under a tree so its covered in moss and has flat tyres, but I'm just thinking, if i could get it for peanuts and clean it up....

I couldnt really see any rust on it, and its been there so long, I'm surprised they haven't got rid of it yet.

But they cant want much for it, so i mean, depending on the mechanical condition of it, with some elbow grease.. it could be saved.

What you guys think?

Sounds like a good idea they can't really charge you more than a couple hundred quid because it's pretty much lost a lot of it's value sat around for 5 years, considering scrap is about £130/ton offer them something in the region of that. Good Luck will probably make a nice project

My bro used to have an old 3 series, some parts are VERY expensive.

G reg will be an E34 which can look amazing with little effort. 17" Borbet As, coilovers, sorted. All the 6 pots are fairly nippy as well, the V8s are RAPID, and obviously the M5 is a machine. Stay away from the 4 cylinders, they have reliability problems and aren't much more economical than the 6 pot 520i...

Make sure it's not rusty anywhere because these cars really aren't worth a lot today so it's not as if you have a lack of cars to choose from if you re settled on one.

Personally I'd be finding out why its been sat on the drive for 5 years first. Why wasn't it just sold.

My bro went through 4 fuel pumps before he found out it was a earth problem (His fuel pumps kept on failing????), it went to two garages that missed that problem.

Nice cars to drive but expensive so i'm told to service.

If its been sat for so long, might be a problem way too expensive to fix!

When we see cars while at work which don't ever move, we put a note through the door and wait to see if we get a response. Works usually although we do meet people who don't like to get rid (Rover 820 - good condition - sat in same place for last 5/6 years!)

gut at the end of my houses had a 318 e30 and it was something like £500 for a set of clocks from bmw. he went down the local market and the electrical guy fixed the old ones for a fiver!
