made a new bumper for my g40

Featured Replies

spent ages customising my spare bumper, though it would look good when i was doing it, but now its on the car I'm not so sure! was aiming for a JDM sort of look to go with the jap rims, but i think its more 'boy racer than JDM, not that theres much difference! might have a go at doing something different with the one i removed.

anyways here it is:

Sorry to say but me neither mate

Maybe if you removed the splitter things from either side

does look abit "boy racerish"

ah well you gotta chuckle! it looks better from a distance cos the bottom bit is less visible!

it'll have to stay like it till the next new one is made. think i will retain the side vents though

Might look better with a badgeless grille - too many circles when you have a VW badge there too.

if the gap in the middle wasnt ther then you would be onto a winner, nice effort though.

I also reckon it'd be better without the gap in the middle, but also if the lip was black maybe.

Badgeless grille would suit it too.

Oh and get a new plate! :-p

mmmm tis ok but like said a little boy racersih 10/10 for effort the mate

thats a bit contreversial ! lol, i like it looks as tho u have done a good job. would heeps better with original lights

Standard grille is fine. I think it's the splitter that's the problem. The angel eyes (which I ain't too keen on in general) look too modern for a Mk3

Yeah, the splitter bit is what i don't like, the side bits look good though where its flared out though.

Maybe if there wasn't a gap in the splitter?

I think it could be a grower.

Nice to see people trying something a bit different though.

Some good work has gone into that bumper and it isn't that bad. Few tweeks and you could have something that suits the car.

I think if it didn't have the splitter bits at either side it would look good. Or have a splitter on the bottom but one that is made of the same black plastic as the top part of the bumper.

Few tweeks and it will suit the car perfectly i am sure.

Refreshing all the same

I like it, quite angular which suits the Mk3 Shape.

Goes well with the tints and bonnet.

Top points for originality and effort man.

Yes it could be said that it's a bit 'boy racerish', but it isn't exactly an air damn snow plough is it?

I think it's quite subtle actually and I kinda like it, deffinately helps to give the car a racey theme.

hhhmmm, not to sure what to do! i did think about doing the splitter bits black, also considered joining them in the middle. was planning on making a new grill out of an old polo one, or even using an audi grill instead.

if anyone gets bored and fancies doing some photoshopping of the suggested ideas i'd be very greatfull!

hmm does not work on your car but i think if the lights the wheels and the mirrors were standard it could work not saying you should change your stuff but there is to many different shapes going on for that bumper to work! but nice try!!!

i like it but then again I'm a ricer at heart

Looks like a good job dude...

How about something like this???

I like it, think the photoshop does look slightly better though. Nice work dude! :)

that chop looks sweet

would look better with a red bonnet imo butttt i still reckon its 8-)
