i don't get why everyone is banding the chav word around so much? is it because there are 2 little holes in the back bumper? is it too deep? granted i don't expect many people to like it, but i haven't built it for other people to like it!

With the 2 seemingly, highly offensive holes filled it really won't look that far different from a mk4 16v/glx bumper imo.

as for ruining it, I don't really care, I've got a spare set of bumpers so it can easilly be put back to std.

And for the record no, I am not a chav :-p

the bmw air intakes are a nice option. not quite my style, but I'm a oem freak.

but the quality of workmanship is ace. full respect to u mate if u like it great! 8-)

congrats at making your car look like one of the chavtastic mcdonalds crew locals lol

but each to their own i say..

this coming from someone who threw a wobbly when his car got slated! theres a saying:

'people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones'

Go on Jon, say "orange peel" to him!

for me the back bumper looks to big, looks like it's been extended. which it has, but would look better if you couldn't tell it had, if it makes sense. as for the front bumpers liking the air ducts [where have i seen them before :-D :-D ] but not the cut out in the splitter, with the bumpers styled in this manner you need some sort of side skirts/sill extension. also work abit more on the stance.

but each to there own, it's your car do what you like. 8-)

Never thought I'd say this...

But your car needs some side skirts!

I quite like the overall idea of flushing in the front and back but looks a bit odd without the sides done!

i had a laguna type splitter on my red g and thought it looked good until i took side on pics and realised the car was un even, all low at the front with nothing in the middle or the rear, smoothing standard items would make me happier but if no-one tried new things we'd all be driving boring cars any numpty could go out and buy.

also you extended the front bumper down and out but the back is like down and in looks gash plus the exhaust cut out looks fucking gash!

cool to see people doing things by themselves

The rear bumper would look better if it was a couple of inches shorter and wasn't so square at the corners at the bottom (if you know what i mean) Also i would make the exhaust cut round and tidy and get rid of the slots in the middle. My opinion anyways.

I like the fact that you are doing mods that YOU LIKE to YOUR car. Showing great skill in the work too. Not going to be to everyones taste but i think if its a mod that you like and can be returned to standard if needs be then there is no real harm.

Don't like the petrol flap though. Just have it red :-)

Good work and keep it up :-)

looks like a top quality job that on the rear, removing the old catalyst badge and some fresh plates and it would look top. i think ill decide when i see it in the flesh to see if it really works but looks better than the rs2 or rs4 bumpers you could get for them

edit: have you filled in the front splitter like jays photoshop yet, cos it really looked ten times better like that

havnt done the front bit yet as I've not been able to find any mg meastros down the scrappy to get the bits that i need, might have to do a tempory fix, or just run my std bumpers for a bit!

dont think i will be doing anything else (everyone breaths a sigh of relief!) as I can't afford to spend on non essential bits at the mo. the plates do need replacing, also need to get a new black surround for the rear, but i might just paint it instead for the time being with a left over can of matt black.

it does look better in the flesh ( i'm no photographer!) but i doubt anyone will get to see it as i always take my slightly more conformist gt to shows and thats if i even bother going, as they all seem to be much of a muchness!

personally not feeling the front or the rear bumpers. nice to see you tring different stuff though...i can appreciate that! my question would be...whats wrong with the original bumpers?:lol:

Probably nothing, except that they look exactly the same as every other standard bumper on every other G40... except the ones who've had their bumpers modified to add a bit of individuality to the car

Man I really like your car, and your workmanship and the fact that you've got the balls to try something new is really good to see.

Fuckin' love that filler cap btw, it's just too cool 8-)

Rear bumper looks ok, probably would look pretty cool in the plastic :-p

Think some subtle side skirts like you get on 6n2's would really set her off now.

Keep up the good work dude 8-)

i really like the fact your trying something different and moving away from the usual oem look (not knocking it)

I'm fairly new here and this is the 1st thing thats really stood out from the croud alot. I'm not quite sure what you mean by jdm. I'm into my jap cars and have owned 4 and still own one now. I've been in the jap scene for a long time and id say its as far away from jdm as it could be. the fact its german doesnt help lol

i like your skills and I'm impressed at you having the balls to do that

the lights arent angel eyes, they are just projectors and spots for the main beam. got them off of german ebay

i love what you get up to Jon, its brilliant! you try new things and you have a go... much respect to you!

from the pics, you cant fault the quality of your work, looks shit hot... ok its not to everyone taste, but its people like you and your constant thinking that gets people trying new things and inspirin people to have a go...

cant wait to see what you get up to next... :-D

why does every one think he is trying some thing new he is not!

This is the type of modification people did years ago. If you look threw old magazines like from the 90's old max power and stuff before big body kits where the style when a change of alloys and a few small mods got you in a magazine.

So its not new he is just doing what know one would want to do any more!!

but yes quality of your work is Ok! its your car so you can do what the hell you want to do at the end of the day.

whats your problem? you seem to have a right bee in your bonnet. you've already made your point that you don't like it which is fine, but there no need to keep banging on about it.

Sorry I'm just trying to say what you are doing is not new in any way! its different to todays trend but not new!

i wonder why i have no friends!!!!!
