Smart, good work :-)

need lowerage, doesnt need to be slammed but just to loose abit of your arch gap.

still need to cut my lower grill so that it fits around the fogs.

mines a 3door same colour as urs and with fogs same as yours haha.

yeah, should be going -60mm as soon as I have some cash :)

wasn't too sure about the colour when I first got it but it's really grown on me

Nice you got my old rims on they look awsome when the car is lowered mine is down about 60 to 70mm

i think it will look really good, but if you want to drop it like 70mm or over your going to be catching it on alot of bumps and the paint will just scratch off.

I wanted to get mine done aswell but i know it will be all scratched up within a week.

mine is nearly 70mm or so and Its never caught on anything

Think I might have to add it on the 'to do' list then :)

Lowering will happen but isn't looking too soon, insurance is due next month, still have yet to fit my central locking kit, the passenger door hinge needs replacing, need to start my custom subwoofer enclosure, it's never ending

Haven't had a chance to do much over the last few months as I've been at uni and moneys been tight :(

Got a european rear light with reverse and a red bulb though :)

Nice! Mines the same colour....i think (Chagal Blue??) Colour-coding the door handles makes a real difference on 5 doors, looks loads better IMO. But looking good so far :)

  • Author

thanks, yeah it's chagal blue

I quite like the contrast of the black on the blue but I'll have a think about it, wondering about doing the front splitter as well

Main thing that really needs doing is the suspension, just deciding what kit to buy

Got a votex spoiler in the garage but I'm not sure if I want it anymore

mate do you want my GL interior out of my 1.6 its laying around doing nothing and would look loads better in your car :D nice car 1.6 5 door FTW!

This is mine with the coded handles btw, i prefer them coded.....but its your car :)

cool thanks for the pic, does look good actually, hmmm

Wouldn't mind a 16v rear bumper too but chagall blue ones seem to be so hard to get hold of, the 8v fronts staying though ;)

Just waiting for some 16v hubs and callipers then the work can start :D

Since taking the pic the carriers have cleaned up well but not sure about the colour, tempted to get the callipers and carriers powder coated before fitting, any colour suggestions?

Took the car up to uni for a few days as I had to come back home this weekend and ended up driving 2 hours north to Leeds and picking up a complete rear GTi disc setup :D (Cheers R1CH)

Also got a pair of polybushed seamwelded front wishbones which will be fitted the same time as the front brakes

The journey home was rather interesting, having an axle poking through the gap in the two front seats

Cheers :)

It's not really much at the moment, just a few subtle bits and pieces, but as soon as I've finished my exams at the start of June the big work can begin :unibrow:

Got quite a lot of bits sat in storage at the moment, and a big shopping list too :D

Any suggestions on the colour to paint the callipers? I'm thinking blue could work well, or maybe VW Red? or just good old black
