Hi guys n gals

I have for sale a 1989 Mk2 polo squareback in Kirsh (cherry) red on a G plate. It has a 1043cc engine with a 4 speed manual gear box. It shows 77,836 miles on the clock.

This car has served me well over the past year, its been my first car and I really dont want to see it go but it's time to move on to bigger but not necessarily better things.

This car was given to me by my dad who owned it before me. It is a superb runner and I would say, in good condition for its age.

I have done lots to the car in the year with the help of my dad who was in the REME for 23 years, every spare minute I had was spent changing this and adding that. It's been a real labour of love. I've bought new door cards for it, a new front grille, and really tidied up the engine bay as you can see in the pics amongst other things.

As i've just got my new car i've not renewed the MOT or tax on the polo (it's currently SORN). I do however have the MOT certificates for the past 10 years and lots and lots of service history, again, as you'll see in the pics.

If I could afford to keep the polo I would, but unfortunately with petrol getting evermore expensive I just can't afford to keep her running so i've got to let her go.

There's a few bad points and they are:

2 small patches of rust on the roof where dad didnt clean off the bird poo

slight rust around around front wheel arch

small tear in back seat approx 1.2 inches long

tear in drivers door card (the ones that are fitted, not the spare set)

small dent in boot

new tappets wouldn't go a miss either

It is a lovely car and would make an ideal car for a true polo lover.

If there is no interest in this by next wed i will scrap the car. It'd b a real shame to see it go the the scrappies...
