F*UCKING CAR INSURANCE

Featured Replies

my next door neighbour has been learning in his car on his provisional for 1400 brick and he passed his test today. He rang his insurance (quinn) to tell them he'd passed and they said "ok sir that will be another 1600 pounds on top of your existing quotation."

he drives a 1.4 16v fiesta zetec and its worth like a grand. insurance for treble the worth of his car, i thinks it f*cking disgraceful. All 17 year old drivers are now being tarred with the same brush as the twats who redline there corsas everywhere hu have no consideration for anybody on the road.

insurance nowadays is just day light robbery just stinging twats, yet all young lads are stereo typed and girls are still getting nice cheap insurance. OAPs must I'm sure be a large portion of road traffic accidents? i remember watching something on the tv about a 90 year old man going down a slip road into oncoming traffic.

i start driving soon and I'm just finking what kind of shit I'm guna be hit with, because I'm almost certain to right my car off! :?

I've got a mk4 6n 8v, i can just see me getting raped on insurance.

has anyone else been robbed in broad daylight?

Directline are good for standard cars and young learners.

When i passed i rang them up said "Hi, iv passed can you change my policy" 2 minutes later i was driving down the road and wasnt paying a penny more.

you have to be careful with quotes when your on a provisional, alot are cheaper then for a full licence hence it going up when you pass!

However directline and mods are not the best, they will let you have lexus lights, tinted windows and a satnav thats about it! lol

Cheap as funk though

unless you drive like a idiot then you won't write it off.

but you will get ass rapped, its the joys of being young i'm afraid.

Happens to all young drivers mate, even to me 3 years ago when I started driving.

My first car was an N reg Renault Megane made of rust that I bought for £180

My first insurance deal for said car was.....£1700 and after interest for monthly payments was probably £1800 odd!

The funniest time an insurance company tried to rape me was my second car, an S reg Fiat Bravo which I was paying £1700 again on but Third Party only insurance! (which means in no circumstances unless an insured driver crashes into me do i get a penny back or my car sorted) I called them up a few weeks into the policy asking if I could put a set of alloys on the car worth £200 at best! "yes" they said "but it will cost you an extra £500 ontop of your premium!" I asked them to justify taking £500 off me for a set of £200 alloys which in the case of theft/fire or accident I'll not see anything back! All I got was "I'm sorry thats just the way the market is"

No wonder people don't declare though

Crazy shit

carver my cars alredy slammed though lol

Drive your parents car on their policy for a few years. I don't think that anyone with NCB has too much of an advantage over me now...at least not one to warrant paying £1500+ in the first place.

lol

Yeah makes me laugh how some people preach about declaring mods, some of the cars on here, no damn way everything is declared.

Not like the insurance companies justify it and make it fair at all.

iv alredy bought my car and spent money on it. dnt think i could justify selling it after spending 3 months getting the body nice. dnt think my old man would let me loose in an 08 plate brand spanker... he squirms wen my mum drives it

lol

i never declared every thing on my first car, as far as they knew it was still a 1.0, but now i can afford to declare i do just to cover my back, not declaring is not big and its not cleaver, but it does save you shit loads

lol!

i was with zuric for my first 6 months and paid £1500 on my 1.2polo fully comp (thats with £900 taken off cos i dont my pass+) i wasnt allowed to change ANYHTING on my car either "has to be as it came from the factory", but it was an accelerator course which got me 2 years no claims for 6 months (but not many insurance companies take the 2 years) I'm now paying £1400 fully comp with more than on the same car for 12months and I'm allowed only cosmetic mods (they took only 1 years no claims instead of my 2 cos their system wouldnt allow it for some wierd reason, i even had the no claims certificate to prove it aswel.

try Liverpool Victoria, Quinn direct (allow 4 mods i think and they charge if they are power or handling increases), Elephant More Than (have to be 18+) phone adrian Flux.

Never been silly enough to pay anything close to that for insurance! When i 1st passed, iirc, i paid £800 tpft on a 1043cc mk2 bready. I had a quote of £1300 and i told them where to shove it!

I pay £600 FC now but thats due to losing my no claims in december

Afew of the bits on the GT weren't declared BUT when the engineer came to look at the accident damage, he was more concerned about how clean the engine bay was and the 'in you face' looks the car possessed. The V5 didnt even match the car (listed as a 1043cc - really a GT!) and i still got paid out!

WHOOPS! :paranoid::lol:

haha luky fuker

wen i got knocked off my bike i was given a courtesy bike, (perks of my shite bike insurance) and a few says before it was due to be picked up the stand snapped :s so i whipped out the welder and tacked it up (only a quick tack lol) and cleaned it up. any how i gave it back and iv not herd anything since but the weld would have never held the weight of tht bike for long haha

lol he probly got a good deal. They wanted 10 grand to insure me provisionally for my mk3.

My car is worth £350

My insurance(fully comp) = £2000 I'm named driver £150 excess

Car is only a 1.3

So tbh some people dont relise how lucky they are.

every thing is declared on mine you just need to shop around !!! iam with hertz there great but keep it std for the first year is was i would say

My Mk2 1.3 No Mods

Age 17 = £1100

Age 18, 1ncb = £700

Age 19, 2ncb = £500ish

My Mk2 1.3 No Mods

Age 17 = £1100

Age 18, 1ncb = £700

Age 19, 2ncb = £500ish

That's a good decrease in prices over 3 years. My sister's been driving for 5 years and she had to pay about when she was 17 £1000 with my parents on the policy and her as not as a main driver, and she's still paying £700 at 22.

Must be the insurance companies and circumstances I guess.

I think its because I'm driving an old shitter on 3rd party

Sorry to say this people, but I'm 30, got a 38 year old partner, house + kids, and my Corrado VR6 is £240 fully comp for the both of us.

The 'loon is my 1st policy, with her as a named driver, and that's only £140.

I totally agree with the fact that young drivers get shat on for insurance, and they who look after their cars, and care for them (ie. not nob-jockeys in saxo's and corsa's), are treated in a bad way, but the insurance companies can't give you a psychological profile for every prospective customer.

The only reason for the high quotes is because of the pillocks. For example, just 2 hours ago I was leaving the curry house (with friday night's tea!), and 2 chavs pull up to me in a body-shopped Saxo, (I was in the 'Rado) and were asking what engine I had in my car (the VR6 badge gave nothing away, appprently). They then proceeded to ask about performance figures, which I read to them via the handbook and other assorted media, upon which the passenger decided to chirp up and say "lets not bother with this one, he'll piss all over us". They then drove off, probably listening to Westwood or some other shite.

They were quite obviously touting for a race over the local by-pass, which may have been irresponsible, but I would have quite happily done just to piss them off and put them in their place.

These are the kind of people that need revoking of licences, if they have them, and maybe shooting on site, because they are the reason why your insurance is soooo fookin high. I may be 30 and have kids, but as all men know, Mr. Fun likes to come out and play one in a while. Age shouldn't make much of a difference, it's a statistic brought on by knob-heads who race for fun, and in the process end up killing the innnocent.

Rant over for now, and if I've offended anyone, I'm sorry, i've had too much beer + wine.

For those of you who couldn't be arsed to read all of that, I'm sympathetic to your cause. I'm insured by HIC, btw.

You young ones need to remember that how is mr insurance ment to know that your a responsible careful driver??? You have to prove to the insurance companies that you will drive within the law and without accidents. Hence the arse raping at 17 and the decent quotes later.

my loon is £112 fully comp from peter best.

BMW 330ci is about the 500 mark with 2 drivers.

If you drive an older car would be well worth seeing if you are able to get a classic policy with someone. Try the companies which are advertised in the air cooled mags. These cater for cars which are 15 years and over. Which i would imagine is a fair few of you young lads.

Well thats why they upped the age to 18 to learn how to drive now :D

great 3 years to wait for me now

most classsic car insurance companys wont take on drivers under the age of 21. i tryed quite a few companys when i was interested in buying a opel kadett c. i changed my minf when i saw a slammed polo haha.

I think the set up is stupid.

I think that young/new drivers should be given one chance with insurance and if they fuck it up then their insurance should rocket. Just ridiculous that we all have to pay more because of the other young drivers who like to drive like dicks.

This rant is fueled by my colossal insurance: £2500 on a GT worth about a grand. That was the cheapest i found after 2 months of looking.

Shabba.
