Featured Replies

twice today i've been using this site, then midway though trying to post some thing the site fucks up and it keeps timing out (took at least 15 mins each time to get back on). now who ever is in charge these days (if any body is  ) can bitch and moan about lots of traffic ect ect, but edition 38 don't have this shit and they have more users than us. so what the fuck is going on?

where is the admin these days? ok they have a life blah blah blah, get steve o back

i've had that. Internet explorer cannot find the page shit pops up quite frequently!

yeah likewise, its worth the load time to see the rack in 'modest mouses's' avatar though..

I use safari as my browser and it cant cope either I'm always left hanging around.

I'm on many other forum's and a lot of them are bigger than this site, but they never have problems.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, boobies! lol.

I've tried using I.E, firefox, BT broadband and MSN. Seems more likely a server problem than a computer issue.

and again, at least 15 mins before i could get back on here, plus 15 hours after this thread was started and not one mod or admin has replied to it?

these threads get started all the time but nothing ever changes, all we get told is it must be our pc's or just too many people logging on, but i've never seen edition 38 do this?

its the same wether i'm using firefox or IE :?

this site is like our cars.....

think about that one...

DOWN AND OUT! d dum tsssh

see reading that i would say it is your PC, I have NEVER had that at all. 9mins to post a topic, come on. If it was like that for everyone i think we would hear about it more, plus it would of happen to one of the mod team.

The late night stuff we think it be some thing running on the server every night like a back up or virus scan, witch we are looking into

ll of schools comps are the same, and the IT TECHINCIANS COMPUTER IS ASWELL?

I've got to back up Dave on this one - I've not had any issues for a long time, and if I have I KNOW it's my PC because I've got a rubbish router which has an overflow stop. When that happens, my browser will die for a while whilst things like MSN or Voice Over IP will be fine. A couple of minutes later (feels like an eternity) it'll be as if nothing's happened.

ISP's are not all the same in operation, either.

No serious problems here at all, and I haven't experienced any of this "I hit submit and nothing happens" malarkey. Yes, sometimes, the hosting server(s) for the forum don't respond or are down but when actually on the site, browsing and posting and replying, I have no issues at all.

I've been on and off this site since about 11:00am today, several times, and it hasn't been slow or unresponsive once.

Cheers

i don't have any problems with the site, apart from about 1:00am onwards when the server does it's stuff... any other computer i go on (uni, home, girlfriends laptop etc) i have no problems with.

it just seems to be this site, it keeps timing out and running slow but while its doing that i can use all the other sites fine so it can't be my pc, the thing is tho its been happening to me yet be fine for people i'm chatting to on msn (and visa verser) but as said all the other sites work fine.

the thing is its had these same problems since i joined up yet the server changes and stuff just don't seem to of done any thing, maybe the site is cursed?

i don't bitch about it happening late at night as thats just some thing i've come to get used to and its always at the same time so as you say it could be the sever doing a scan or some thing, but yesterday it was happing all though the day and at night (not the usual time it happens or i would of just put up with it), and today its been proper slow.

Just having a peek at what the server is running and its got some bizarre services running on it any reason why?

BTW A upgrade of Apache might be a good idea and some load balancing wouldn't go amiss (If your not already)

ll of schools comps are the same, and the IT TECHINCIANS COMPUTER IS ASWELL?

whats that ment to prove? i would say schools would be the worst as a number of students use each computer, putting the usb keys in and just spreading virus around the entire network.

also all the school computers will be using the same isp, so at times like break and lunch alot of people will be using the net. AND if it is like my area, all the schools use the same isp.

I know all this sounds like i am trying to move the blame on, but if you look at the number of people that have problems in the day, compared to the number of people that can get on and use it fine....well

Never had a problem, well, not for ages anyway.

I'm finding it really slow to load pages
