whats going on with this site?

Featured Replies

I get problems at all times of the day. And its nothing to do with my mac or net as i can get on to other website's whilst this one is down.

It used to be really bad, then it got sorted, but over the last few weeks it has been creeping back again.

*Just to add that I don't have any performance issues

BTW A upgrade of Apache might be a good idea and some load balancing wouldn't go amiss (If your not already)

Nothing weird about them services ??

I dont usually notice many issues with this site either.... apart from some of the twats that post on it  :-D

we're currently on a shared server and I think the answer will be to move to a dedicated one, we are already talking about this.

yes same here it takes a lot longer than other sites to laod up and I'm on the fastest server there is due to works internet having the best connections/network etc possible

that made no sense

i use works internet for a company turning over 2 million a week, we have to have the fastest internet connections possible, and still the site loads up slowly

only late at night i get problems for me, not gonna kill me tho.

well sally knows that my connection is shit and this site seems to be as shit as any other for me ...I wonder if she is fitting the 1W instead of working on the site ??????Na I'm just talking like a nice person now ...........but the word filter works ok ...............lol...luv you realy x x x

Ah but can you be sure that your company is not using an utility like Packateer that is prioritising the internet traffic....it would certainly make sense for a company with that level of turnover to prioritise business traffic!

Nothing weird but there certainly unnecessary on a server that has such a load as a forum like CP would, By shared do you mean actually shared or a virtual host running on a physical machine? With the amount made in membership fee's I thought you would have more than enough to do this

Edited by pinky

I wounder if it might be down to a certain ISP it could be possible that a ISP that all the people having problems are using?

I dont have any problems at any of the the 3 locations i use

same, no problems on here for me, sometimes it cant find the page, but then edition and seatcupra.net do the same. I just take it as granted and move on.

i think it would have been much better to have pm'd dave, sally or any of the mods / admins, rather than put up a topic like this. Pms would get their attention better, and it's a more mature way of doing things.

Alternatively go and start your own forum?

give the guys a break on here, there is more to this site than people think

Like hayesey has allready said it is some thing we are looking into.

Yeah I know its no way a dig at anyone as it would not be a small task and I imagine you all have busy work schedules but I do believe its been on that shared server for quite some considerable time

yeah we have always been on a shared one. But we have been on a few. Each time moving to a better one.

its 99% of the time ok for me at home..

but at work thats another story get pages hanging all the time and some times i cant even log on!

but this is cos like dave said before I'm at a school and the net is shared with every fucker else in the authority lol

it works for me 99% of the time aswell

and the simple answer is dont use the site if it bothers you that much

I occasionally get problems but nothing to bad. May take a while to load but thats about it.

Same here... after 12,1ish at night, I'm screwed though.... lol the site is on and off as it pleases, mostly when I'm about to make a post lol

I personally dont mind, well it is a little annoying but as far as I'm concerned great site/forum regardless! Maintenence of the forums must be a bitch.... so props to u guys for moderating the shiz... 8-)

mines fine mostly. the odd error loading page, but you get that eveyrwhere. no dramas here. but for those who are getting problems there is no need to be arsey about it.

i mean, "IT FUCKIN AINT! SORT IT! " is over the top. all websites have problems now and again.

most of those unusual looking open ports are part of the CPanel software originally installed for managing the server.

but if you do that you don't get a jist of the size of the problem. i only started this thread after getting pissed off having to wait 15 mins to try and make a post, normally i just accept it and wait till i can get back on, which i guess a lot of people do so the problem could go virtully unoticed, or is thought to be smaller than it is as its just a few reporting it. at least this way it gets peoples attention (both users and mods) and people can see that the mods are aware of it and are trying to sort it.
