I wonder how much his insurance is to cover learners on that!? I'd love another Lupo GTi, but probably wouldnt want anyone else to drive it

I think that the best bet would be to go and speak to people at car dealerships and see what they can offer you in terms of finance deals etc.

Some people are subjected to learning in some horrible cars and i do think that the choice of car is important.

I think that ford is an easy middle ground in terms of design and engine sizes etc. Wouldn't go for the focus as reverse parking a barge would be pretty daunting at first attempt. New fiesta in a nice colour would be something i would look into.

What cars you going to test drive?? Would avoid the fiat 500 though, expensive and plastered with learner stickers and with a plastic hat on it will look so turd. See them everywhere now too, loads of cocks drive them.

i'd be a nightmare if i was an instructor i think. i wouldn't be able to stay calm when the persons sat there burning the clutch out or scraping the kerb with the wheels

I'd disagree TBH, if you're used to a middle sized can from learning, when you get in a small car of your own, it's easier, and you feel more vunerable, so are less likely to take chances.

Until you get to what I suffer from, which is the extreme opposite. I can thread a Transit van and 21 foot transporter trailer through a maccys drivethrough without thinking about it, ask me to put a ka in a supermarket parking space and I can't do it

I'm exactly same, fit through gaps n spaces no1 else tried but cant park the daily mk3 straight for a month o sundays trying

spose its irrelevant in the polo seen as its the size of a big shoe

I learnt in a rover 200 diesel and my mk2 at the same time.

Much preferred the polo, even though it was harder to drive because the clutch bite point was like the eye of a needle compared to the diesel.

When the only other car I'd known was that diesel, I wasn't prepared when I first gave my own car a go - I stalled about 9 times before I eventually cottoned on that it needs throttle as well as clutch, whereas the diesel didn't. See, nobody pointed that out back then, but it was a better experience driving it.

i learnt in a diesel 206 gti, was very good especially when a micra tried to overtake me in a right turn lane and my instructor told me to floor it. the dick had to pull in behind me. muhaha
