Being insurance Group 15, then i guess the answer is no for young drivers :!:

I dont think there is such a thing as a cheap insurer for a G40 really.

Doesn't help that its insurance group 15.

Worth giving Elephant a phone they were the cheapest for my friends insuring G40s at your age, still be pushing close to grand i reckon tho

Give bell a try mate on a 10 month bonus thingy was the cheapest for me by far

Its costing me £1700 for a 1.0l polo and I'm 20 :-(

Insurance sucks doggs danglies .

When I get 2 years NCB (I'll also be 20 by then) its still gonna cost £1300 to insure a G40!

There is no one company that is 'the cheapest' for insurance, otherwise the other companies would be out of buisness.

There are so many variables in insurance and the different companies you just need to phone round yourself and get the best quote.

I've spent the last 2 weeks phone insurance companies looking to renew my valvers insurance, got quotes from as little at £650 up to £2100. I'm 20, 3 accidents  7 points and 1 year NCB.

I went with a quote from elephant though as they cut me a good deal with the monthly payments, wasnt the cheapest quote i got but the cheapest quote £650 from bell wanted 30% extra for monthly payments which just isnt worth it!

Cheap insurance for a G40 at your age is never gonna happen i'm afraid! I'm 27, 1year NCB, accident just before xmas (not my fault!) and i'm paying £600 fully comp!

thats fuck all i wouldnt winge!

I'm 24 3 points no no claims..so...to reduce the cost I'm a named driver on my mothers policy and the car is in her name with all her no claims on the car. I'm not a student anymore but it made fuck all difference. I've been driving six years and i pay nearly 700 quid 3rd party fire and theft, with limited millege. now thats ridiculous!

700 quid not even in my own name! not even fully comp! not even unlimited millege..so if i got your deal i'd be over the moon!!!

i always get completley raped for insurance. some people pay nothing compared to what I've been quoted. i live in one of the worst postcoded areas in the country ..yet the area i live in is nice, but covers such a wide area of the city centre so i get nailed.

I got quoted £900 TPFT when I was 20 with up to 120bhp.

I got a quote for £1600 which i dont supose is too bad the guy at the insurance company said it would be cheaper to insure a type r lol.

These insurance companies mainly pull a figure out of thin air :(

adrian flux

brentacre

cis

hic

all good usually...

if hic give you a good quote, check out lowdownvw.com you get 10% discount if you're on there

My Ex Gf's fault for not telling me and me being pulled over with "no licence or insurance"

Sucks really but i have no choice :crybaby:

When I was 21 I was £593 fully comp with 0 points and 1 years no claims. with norwich union direct on a G40

Is there something wrong with Swift as to why they are so cheap?

Also , I keep getting cheap quotes from Admiral, but then it says i need to call to complete the quote. So I'm guessing its bullshit.

Also, just changing my postcode from where i currently live to back home literally halved my quote, which is a joke

I've just recently renewed my insurance on my G40 (standard), last year I was paying £1300 with chris knotts, thats being 19 years old with 1 years no claims.

gave a few places a ring this year to see what kinda quotes I could get being 20 with 2 years no claims, my renewal quote was just over a grand and most companies were quoting me £1500 upwards.

but I rang adrian flux and got a quote of £460 :-D, thats being 20, 2 years no claims, third party fire and theft, limited millege to 5000 miles a year, excess is £150 I think..........so I snapped there arm off for it.

definatly worth shopping about

I actually looked on moneysupermarket.com a few minutes ago, it would cost about the same for me to drive a G40 as my GTi...

Tell me about it! £1600 for my 1.2!

But I'm 19 with 0 no claims and thats all modifications declared.

Should go down next year hopefully. I went on my own now because I didn't wanna be in your shoes, 24 with loads of experience but 0 ncb.

id go with adrian flux, i just turned 20 with ncb,i got a quote for a g40 with all mods declared(turbo etc)980quid ,which I'm def taking seen as last yeah cheapest quote i was gettin was 2100quid. STAY CLEAR OF BUDGET insurers there rip you off guaranteed

Yeah but seeing as a lot of insurance prices are based on performance no wonder... they are pretty similar in terms of performance, in fact, if you go by road test figures, a G40 is a fair bit quicker.

Also, regarding cheap insurance on a G40. Try Admiral for anyone struggling. I'm 19 and about to get my first years NCB. G40 with a value of £2500, fully comp with a £350 excess and my gran as a named driver - £1370.

I did have quotes a lot less than that a while ago, seems like insurance prices for some quick cars has shot up.
