hi all, just wandering if anybody knows of any good scrapyards in the northwest area. preferably manchester/cheshire as i am looking for some pieces for a 6n polo and some others. thanks

theres one in bury and one in oldham i'v used

pimhole road in bury, got a good few scrappers there, id say there the best ones.

theres also afew in bolton behind the big b&q just outside the town centre, but there not as good. Metro is great, but stupidly expensive, and the people who work there are tw*ts

theres a couple in central manchester in salford and hyde, they tend to ask silly prices tho, 60 quid for a rear 16v bumper with a crack in :-/

but as said above pimhole road in bury has tonnes of scrappies reet next to each other so it means one trip can get you to a fair few scrappers so youll maximise the chances of finding what you want

One in Middleton, VW/Audi Breakers, Spring Vale. Usually has quite a lot in but it's not the sort of place you can walk round - just go to a desk and tell them what you want.

Used to be a big VW one in Pimhole but it's moved to Ramsbottom or somewhere that neck of the woods. Couple of others at Pimhole, usually have a few VWs in.

Nah its not that bad really, sound guy there too, gave me alot of advice before i`d ever even heard of forums

haha, I think it depends what mood that guy is in at the one in Middleton, I get the impression sometimes that he just can't be arsed to go and look for something. I much prefer yards where you can just look round.

It's a shame the big VW one isn't at Pimhole anymore, they weren't cheap but had lots of stuff in.

the reason i went to pimholes in the first place was because i was told there was a vw scrappers :( then found there wasnt. ah well. still found some decent scrappers

It was on the right as you drive down to star breakers and bury salvage Mike, one of them two untis behind the blue (i think) fence
