Iv had my 1990 MK3 saloon for 3 years. Its a fantastic little run around, unfortunatly I bought a renault laguna 04, and have neglected my polo for the past year. I felt sorry for the polo as it was sitting in a barn collecting dust.

Well as the summer is on its way I thought id treat the loon to a bit of a make over (poor little thing)

First thing was to get a new Engine as the standard 1.3 had clocked up alot of miles. I found a G40 that had done 98'000, so I bought it to transfer the lump, Interiour etc.

Chassis has gone to the body shop for a few modifications and a re-spray. Mods will include, Flaired Arches and replacement wing mirrors and a couple of other small bits. I want to keep it as standard as possible appart from the colour. I decided to go with Kawazaki Green, although its a quite common colour, I like it. Plus it will also have a gold pearl ontop.

Interior will include G40 front seats, s/wheel, all origional G40 parts from donor car. All seats, door cards, carpet, will be trimmed in green and black to match the Exteriour.

All the sound and security was installed last week. That included, PS2, 7" screen, 13cm MB Quart's in doors, tweeters in dash, 6"x9"s in rear, genesis amp running 2x 12" MB Quart subs. I went for a stelth look so you wont be able to see any of it. (I will know its there).

Hmm looks like it could be fun, all-red rear lights would have looked nice if you'd kept it black!

Will be interested to see it when its done, needs a diffrent set of wheels and some lowering imo but each to their own!

That pic was before i done anything to it. Wheels I have at the moment are PLS vittess but there too wide so I want to get some Schmilt? Its also gunna be loweres 35

they are 8s on the rear and 7ns on the front. Ill keep it in mind but id like to swap for the exact ones that i want.

Here it is, all finnished. Took it to BugJam at the weekend. It runs like a dream!! Changed the colour at the last minute, I decided to go for Lambogini orange and black 2 tone.

Cheers guys. I wasnt to sure about them. It was a "just spray em and see what they looked like" job. I guess ill stick the old ones back on then in orange.

wow, all that effort to then spray it two tone gash orange.

I think the orange and black theme under the bonnet looks superb! Something different that really works IMO.

Personally, I'd have done the outside all orange with black detailing/badges/wheels etc. etc. - and standard door mirrors!

Get some more pics up, looks a really excellent effort finish wise.

Get some pics of the car fully in the light so we can see the paint properly. I like it. Something different at least. Mirrors are shit but as you said try em and see. Standard mirrors in orange or black will look much better better. Under bonnet looks the balls I bet this looks cool as fuck as it roars past you.

cracking car, don't put std mirrors back on, they will look so out of place on such a heavilly modified car. the little f1 style mirrors would suite it perfectly imo, they just look like minature versions of the std polo mirrors to me anyway.

I was thinking the same! Looks like it might have a steel sunroof in one of the pics too!

Oh bollocks, Its was black and it had a steel sunroof, please dont tell me they are worth alot of money. I honestly didn't know it was any more rare than any of the others.
