I'm looking at buying another car from the VAG family, so its possible that I could be selling my Polo. I'm currently torn between breaking it and selling the parts or selling it whole to someone who's going to look after it.

I'm just looking to see if anyone is interested at the minute, so please let me know if you are....

Good points:Too many to list, but I'll try to give a rough idea of the spec.

- Indian Red shell, in very good condition, normal amount of car park dents etc

- 1391cc ABD engine, with a full top end rebuild only 4 weeks ago. ABD engine fitted with GT camshaft, new timing belt, water pump etc.

- Engine fitted with GT management, inlet, injection etc, all major components either new or reconditioned - runs perfectly. New hall sender and all sensors replaced. AHD gearbox fitted.

- Custom 2" single box stainless exhaust with hidden tailpipe

- PPP Stage Three subframe, with adjustable tie bars - fully set up 2 weeks ago (geometry settings available on request).

- Fully reconditioned front suspension, including new top mounts, bushes and TCA's. Reconditioned struts fitted with genuine VW front wheel bearings.

- Reconditioned steering rack, new steering arms N/S and O/S.

- 60/40 H&R cup kit.

- Fully reconditioned GT rear beam and rear brakes, including new drums, genuine VW rear wheel bearings, stub axles.

- Reconditioned VWII front calipers, 239mm vented discs, Goodridge braided hoses all round. Brand new copper nickel brake lines throughout the car.

- Standard 13 x 5.5" GT steels fitted with good tread 175/60R13 Yokohama A539's all round, all tyres have 4mm + tread.

- OE fog lights fitted.

- Mint GT interior, no damage to bolsters, black parcel shelf. GT headlining fitted.

- Bee sting aerial, full ISO wiring loom for stereo, JBL speakers in the standard place.

Loads more things that I've missed out - but enough to be going on with. Can supply the full details once I've got a proper list together. Every receipt for everything I've ever bought for the car is available.

Bad points: The only thing I would comment on is bodywork - its a 16 year old car. There is no rust, but a few car park dents which annoy me!

All I can say is that for the money you won't buy a better GT, it will reliable for a long time because everything is new! I know what I'm doing when it comes to setting up the car so the timing and idle is correct. It returns a consistent 40mpg with the conversion, and drives amazingly well with the subframe and geometry correctly set-up. It is listed as 1391cc on the log book, no dodgy ringing going on here!

Power? I don't know, not really bothered about that to be honest. Its perhaps about 75-80bhp as its still got the catalytic convertor. What it does have however its lots of useable torque, much more than a standard 3F engine :)
