Teaching Someone To Drive?

Featured Replies

Howdy, well its an extra £65 to put my gf on my insurance as a provisional driver, now I've been driving for over 2 years and I'm 19, 20 in june.

Am i allowed to have her as my driving student? are there any rules/regulations here that i dont know about?

Cheers

i thought it was over 21.... i maybe wrong

i think you need to be 21 and have 3 years or over driving experience with a clean record

Isn't it even older than 21?

Ok just found this on google:

If you practise your driving with another qualified driver, they must have held a full EC/EEA Driving Licence for the category of vehicle being driven for at least three years. And they must be at least 21 years of age.

Cheers for the replys, mods can delete this thread if they so wish now

From DSA:

If you want to practise your driving with an accompanying driver, the accompanying driver must be over the age of 21 and must have held (and still hold) a full licence, in the relevant vehicle category, for three years.

hahahaa was going to say the same thing.

21 i beleive !

I didn't know it was three years you had to hold your licence. You are not allowed to take money for teaching someone as it is illegal, unless you ar and ADI.

Clean record? I used to sit with my mate when he was on provisional but i never had a clean record - 3 points in '98 for speeding!

Oh well. Lock me up now!

I've got 3 and I've sat in with a fair few learners.

Can never work out if they ask me because I've got my advanced, or just because I'm afraid of nothing.

its over 21 and driving 3 years or more....

Mrs just checked this morning on the documents....
