i used my 98 1.4 16v engine/light/wiper etc loom, cut out the excess wiring for the ecu/sensors and injector plugs etc leaving the light/indicators/wipers loom and the dial wires oil/temp/rev counter/speedo etc so i mated the g40 loom on to that which is mainly the sensors for the dials, fuel pump supply and power supply for fuse box as the g40 engine loom is mainly independant and needs an earth, positive and fuel pump wire to run it the rest is pretty much gauges/clocks.

the 6n loom plugs into the gti interior loom on the standard plugs although you have to switch a couple of wires that go into the multi plugs it's not too bad.

Sounds far to complex for the likes of me!

I hate wiring. I don't mind taking the loom out of a car and replacing it with a new one so long as they mate up. But I hate fucking about having to make looms

yea arse ache, bollock scratching, swearing and endless rolls of black insulation tape!

helps being a qualified hand solderer and i used to build circuit boards (pcb's) and house alarms for a living!

still get stuck at times but as long as it all turns out ok in the end then i'm happy!
