Just wondering if anyone had an idea of an estimate price for scrapping metal, some people say 150 per tonne, some only 50, so in your experiences how much is an average price?

Cheers :-D

I got £190 for an old Honda estate last week.

Depends what it is, who you are, how much you're taking and where you're taking it.

Prices are dipping this week apparently according to the yard we use.

my mates constantly scrapping stuff (he's NOT a pikey!) so i'll ask him. I must get my GT taken before the price falls.

My parents got about £30 for an renault laguna about 6 months ago I reckon they got ripped off reading this.

Depends where and who took it? By the sounds of that price they took it down a car breakers yard, rather than a metal recyclers.

My brothers a trader and regularly scraps cars he gets on part-ex, he gets £200 per tonne at the moment, and its going up within the next few days too (because hes a regular, other people who go there get £180 per tonne).

Plus then he gets the money for the cat (depending on size) and for weighing the alloys in. :)

£350 collected for a jag xj6... a bit rotten... couldn't have sold it for that!

you can tell when scrap prices are good just by how many pikeys you get driving round in van shouting though a laud hailer. dirty smelly fucking bastards.
