My daughter is abroad and has left her Polo with us meantime. I've noticed that the reversing and brake lights are not working. I'm demented trying to find the fuse box! I've found the one above the battery but can anybody put me out of my misery and let me know where the other one is?

Have you got the owner's manual? It'should all be in there.

I'm not sure if yours is a 9n (round headlights) or a 6n2 (rectangular), but in the 6n2 it's behind the little cubby hole by your right knee when you're sat in the driver's seat. There's a handle you can grab to pull the plastic panel off at the back of the cubby hole to get at the fusebox. There should be a card inside which details what each fuse is for, using icons. The owner's manual explains what each icon means.... if it is a 6n2, then they'll look like this:

Thanks for your reply. No, I don't have the manual. Her car is a 1.2 petrol with round headlamps. I've been and checked where you thought it was but nothing doing. The only thing on the right hand side is the bonnet release. I've removed the panel just under the steering lock, no luck. There is a lot of wiring high up on the right hand side of the drivers footwell but no fuse box.

Open the drivers door and its behind a little panel on the side of the dash next to the clocks, you need the key to open the "door" of the fuse box bit.
