the speed limit is 70

As above, but mk3s are very light which makes them unstable at higher speeds compared to the heavier hatches!!

my mates did this for a while, no idea why. is your tracking out / wheels balanced properly?

shouldnt judder mine will go well off the clocks and is smooooooth

Sounds like your tyres need balancing to me, but then again i think it would judder before 80mph if so....

Maybe its your law abiding car trying to tell you to slow the fuck down

ad have a go at tyres being out of balance.

high speeds are scary in mk3's

mine done that aswell when i put my new wheels on. got the trackng and balancing done and all sorted!

That's funny, I also suffer from drag!

had the same problem had the wheels balanced doesnt do it anymore

man thats bullshit, mine felt fine up in triple figures, ok it wasn't exactly the smoothest of rides, but it was far from unstable tbh.

Yea no stability issues at all, the way up to 100 in mine, Motorways were the polos ideal environment if I'm honest

hah, man speaks the truth!

as long as its not windy on the mway

might be because it a 1ltr and they weren't designed to go over 20mph!

drive at less than 80 then :-p

drive at less than 80 then :-p

come on, its proberly taken him 20-30mile of motorway just to get to that speed, let the guy have his illegal fun!

Well up in triple figures iirc. Not that i'd do anything like that on the M6!!

Iv had my GT flat out on a few occasions and it felt fine, they can be dodgey in strong cross winds. If the cars shaking at that speed its either:

tracking

wheel balance

worn suspension parts, bushes ect

cmon give him a break 80mph is breaking the speed limit but the whole overtaking lane of the motorway sits at 80 lol, sounds like wheel balancing dude..

ha thats funny so why does my dad do 90+ mph on motorway, and mike you are a funny fuck, plus i got 95mph out of it on Friday, freaking wicked it was

Wind drag wouldn't make the car shudder like that. Wheel balancing as stated above would be my guess.

And because it seems like a big d*ck contest my R33 Skyline was rock-solid at 168mph :shock:8-)

have you got spigot rings?

Forget 70 on the motorway, on an average day on the M6, you do 70 in the fast lane and get a queue behind you.

But first time i went on was at night and it was windy, this in a 1.3 CL at standard ride height, was scary to say the least. Seems a bit better now its low but i still dont like those speeds. Keep it below 60 ;)

see i dont really like going that slow on a motorway, if i am gonna go 60 i might aswell use the country lane, motorways as above are a VW home

Why are half the folk on here proper soft arses! You go on how you wouldn't speed cos it's against the law, but will happily be low enough to scrape bumpers, spliters, etc. And tyres scrubbing too.....I think you will find that's a little dodgey too when it comes to MOT time..

Give the guy a fucking break for doing 80!

Besides, nearly every speedo runs out but 5-10mph, so he's probably only doing a genuine 70 anyway!

Now stop the bitching..

RANT OVER!
