I've just got some in 195/45/14 and wondered how good these are... anyone got em?

very good road and track tyre i run them on my g40 and my mk2 golf trak car and the mrs vr6

Ran them on my Mk2 Golf GTi, recommend them highly :)

i run them in 13x175 on my 8s n they have amazing grip in dry

Very good all round tyres mate, have just brought a new set of em actually in that size as well, they keep my G on the road so cant complain lol

nice n sticky in the dry... carp in the wet

am runnin 185/50/14's on ma G n they perfom really well... still spin up but had A048's before twice the price, lasted half the time n dint see any better performance from them!!! get em bought mate!

I love'em. Nice and grippy in the dry, bit pants in the wet.

well i have one on my front left and a fluda on my front right

and i can say it definatly handles better round right hand corners

i would recommend them for sure

Had these on my GT since about january. Grip in the dry seems good, but not excellent. Grip in wet is as expected (i.e. crap) but for the money, i think they wear out too quickly.

I'm gonna go for some Toyo T1R's in 195/45/14 next, just to see what they are like. And also (mainly) because they are cheaper.

Avon .. quite a few of the corrado boys run them. highly rated, can get them with reinforced side walls aswel

general concensus from speaking to people in the know i.e. fella at yokohama thats not a sales monkey, average in the wet at best but shit hot in the dry. cant compalin for the price n if your arseing it around in the wet you want a slap anyway, dont be fucking daft

Agreed. They are perfectly good in the wet if you are not being a muppet, and if you are then no tyres will save you.

Tyres wont compensate for poor driving. I think they are a really good all round tyre better than the comparable Toyo in my opinion.

I really don't think A539s are that bad in the wet at all, obviously they are no rain tyre though (although they do have a wet weather tread pattern).

And yeah, they'll definately be an improvement over ContiSports... which are shocking in the wet.

Agree on both, cant wait to get yokos back on. The contis are shocking considering they're more expensive.

The Yoko's have everything going for them,especially as their stiff side walls are so good for steering response on the light,non power assisted Polos. You want grip in the dry,and their compound delivers. You want some slide in the wet and their compound delivers.. Though they're a bit snappy. The Avon shout above is valid,there's another great tyre.
