Featured Replies

hi

i've just joined up and i am looking for my first car. i haven't passed my test yet, but i hope to in june.

my mate at college has got a mk2 hatchback, and i think it looks mint. so i have decided to try and get a mk2 polo coupe, but the only problem is that they are quite hard to find in my area. so can anyone help me locate a car around stoke-on-trent, staffordshire area.

thanks for reading. speak to you soon.

what u offering to pay for one mate

around 0 - 400 ish, might pay a bit more depending on the condidtion.

Hello there,

I have noticed your posts regards a polo coupe mk2 for the first car and can i say an excellent choice :-) I have one and i love it. Its mint and cost me £600 but i had to have it delivered on the back of a lorry to Leeds from Brighton!!

I probably paid over the odds but it was so mint when i got it with only 40 thou on the clocks.

Best advice to finding one is not to look on here....... no offence to club polo peeps but the cars on here tend to demand more than they are worth. Best off keeping your eye open in free ads, autotrader, ebay and so on. Bargains are out there and you should be able to find something respectable for around the £400 area. You may have to travel and wiat for the right one but it is worth it rather than jumping on the first shitter you set eyes on.

Some serious looking, and waiting is ahead of you. Wait for a good one, they do turn up.

Good luck!! 8-)

nice one m8

like you say, i dont wanna jump the gun cause i want a fairly decent one so i'll just keep looking.

there's one on ebay at the min, so me n my dad might go and have a look at. thanks for the advise.

well woth it for first car, mine cost £100 through a friend of a friend of my dads , (vw dealer tryed to rip them off when took for mot)with 27000 on clock and no rust,, insurance is cheap (£300 fully comp this year), parts are cheap and running them's cheap if you get a goodun, touch wood the most I've spent on it is getting the wheels powder coated. very light and nippy (just watch out for speed). Also if you get an early one you don't have to worry about dodgy old ecu's/electrics as they dont have them.

BTW If you come across 2 i'm looking for another minter as the other half wants one, they love mine so much.

i'll keep a look out m8, i might be going to look at one soon. fingers crossed i can get it.

Hi there

I have a black J Reg Mk2 GT Coupe for sale. It is no where near a minter and does need quite a bit of work on it but just wondered if you might be interested, or anyone else reading this, if you fancy a little project!

It is in fair condition and still on the road (I'm using it everyday nearly) with tax until Nov and MOT until Dec but the brakes need some serious attention, it has an oil leak and the petrol guage works intermittently. It only has two bad rust spots, one on the bottom of the passenger door and one below the rear number plate. There is about 125K on the clock.

I am going away for a couple of months mid June so dont have the money or the time to fix it up at the moment so have decided to sell and hope someone will give it the love it deserves!

I am in Burton on Trent so not too far from you. Let me know if you are interested and I will sort some pics etc.

thanks m8

i'm looking at one on friday so if that does not follow through can you put some pics up for me to have a look at please.

thanks again. i'll let you know as soon as possible, so that you know where you stand.

Ok cool. I will probably stick it on ebay Friday night so have a look on there and i'll try and get some pics on here too.

thanks mate will defo check it out.

hi there,

I dont want to change the subject of this thread, but i was wondering how much would it cost for tax, insurance and how many mpg's will a 1990 mk2 polo coupe do?

Thanks for your help,

Marcus

ent got a clue.

the one i looked at was a project to fix up proper.

where was it and what colour scott? I've bought another. :)

All depends with mine first year aged 18 was around £750 third party fire+theft, this year cost £300 fully comp, tax was £125 for 12 months and depending on petrol prices my car takes about 25 litres to cram fill and this usually lasts for bout 200 miles mainly city rush hour driving

it was blue n on ebay, it didnt look in best of shape.
