Check lambda sensor and blue temp sensor too, mines running rich as well but not that bad.

£15 at £1.10 a litre and 250miles is 83.3 mpg, which beats vws bluemotion!!!

Does the car drive ok? If it's pretty rough it might be the throttle position sensor. That's the only thing I've had go that's caused such low MPG. They should do 30mpg at the very worst.

1.10? Bit more than that,it was super unleaded.. Well i was in the red,and the fuel pump was getting air in corners. I put 20 quid in,and it went to just under half full. Got home having seen both sides of 200 miles on the clock,no surprise given the time on the roads,wasnt back in the red yet. Could be a bit lean maybe,i'll look into it. But even a tuned GT should do 100 miles to a tenner,not 30.

If a tuned GT would do 55+ MPG i'd buy one straight away Mikey

Well I've just driven another 30 miles to Aylesbury,the long twisty way,and it has now gone into the red. And the fuel pump is tapping after corners. So its gotta be at least 270 on the full 20 quid. I have to believe this,unlike you lot,as the evidence is with me. But I'm as baffled as you lot are sceptical. I do know how to drive though,and can get top mpg out of any car. But this is ridiculous.

If your petrol costs you £1.10 (which I bet is lower than it is really), that still works out at 66mpg, it's simply not possible. If you have made a 1.4 litre carburated petrol engine that returns 60mpg in a car weighing ~700kgs or more then you will be an overnight multi-millionaire as no car company has ever managed this with millions (billions?) of pounds of R&D.

Tbh ye that is ridiculous mpg, but i had this shit on another thread where people where telling me it was bullshit that i got 6 more mpg from using snazzy fuel, why the fuck would i lie about that?

what reason is he gna bullshit about this for, maybe hes got wank gauges or maybe he just got that mpg thru divine intevention or summit lol.

because it's misinforming people. I don't believe anything I read on the Internet but a lot of people do. Posting "facts" like "a 1.4 ABD on carbs should get 90mpg and a GT should do more" could cause a lot of people to think they have problems because they are getting more like 35-40mpg and start buying new lambda probes etc... when really, there's nothing wrong.

sure it could be a problem with gauges or whatever but surely a little common sense can tell you that 1400cc + carbs cannot possibly give 90mpg or 66mpg or anywhere near those figures.
