for sale is my Mk1 golf gti 1.8. I have only owned this car for about 8 months, i bought it from someone on this forum.

The car has done about 115,000 miles which is low for the age of the car. The car did hav a running problem at one point, it took me ages to fix, i ended up replacing alot of parts when i only needed to replace the injectors.

So the car ha got brand new injectors, ignition leads, battery, fuel filter, i also replaced the warm up regulator, fuel pump, accumulator with second hand parts.

The car runs very well and is very quick especialy round corners.

It is more or less standard but there are a few mods, these include:

Strut braces front and rear.

weitech sport suspension lowered about 40mm (not sure, was on when i bought the car)

Straight through section in the exhaust.

It also has a kenwood cd player.

Bad points:

Damage around the rear towing eye

bottom of the tail gate is starting to rust but could easily be fixed

head lining is a bit tatty at the rear.

The tyres on the p slots are pirellis 185, 55, 14 so they are a lower profile than standard. the tyres are about 4 months old, so plenty of tread.

The steel Mattig wheels pictured are included in the sale, they are now painted gloss black and the tyres are bald.

has this got a sun roof and i think you are asking a bit much for it has the mot and tax is due next mouth

not many golf would go above 1k with a month mot unless the spec was amazing,

will you drop a bit???

I should also point out that this car will fail an MOT on the spare wheel tyre being bald.

yes i will drop the price, but only to £2200 as this car is working very well.

But i think most mk1 golf gti's in good condition will go for alot more than '1k' /\ even more than 2k.

1) Spare tyre being bald isn't an MOT issue

2) £2200 for an average Mk1 GTI... there's a bloke wanting just £800 more for one that's had a full restoration and is a genuine campaign and has a TSR engine!

Yes Mk1 GTIs can hold their value but only if they are exceptionally mint or have something special about them will they be worth more than £2k IMO!

Although it does seem a bit highly priced. Got rid of my mars red 1.8 8v mk1 for £1200 and only had it advertised for one day.

Oh and it had full tax and mot on it too

Sorry if I sounded harsh but yeah, if you had a full years MOT on it then people would probably be more willing to part with a lot of cash for the car!

spot on, really cars arent worth shit with out mots cuz u NEVER know what could be lerking underneth could be a cut n shut u NEVER know so when its got and mot its gna fetch top many, and as jedi said they do hold there money but need to be in good condition road worthy and S/H is the main one really most gtis have been thrashed but little shits to carryin, get a 12month ticket on it and i might be interested at around 2k cheers

alright just a pointer the car will fail if the spare tyre is bald, but but if theres no spare wheel in the first place it wil pass, thats what they said to me about my golf when i had it. mint golf btw
