Mercedes 2.3 16 Cosworth

Featured Replies

199 blue/black metallic paintwork, MOT untill January, taxed for a couple months. Some history with it. Bodywork is good, tiny bit of laquer peel and the odd small parking ding. Not rotten like most!

Brand new stainless exhaust with custom tailpipes.

Its done about 4/5k miles in it and in my ownership its had an oil and filter change, new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm. Before I had it its had all the power steering replaced.

I fitted a better rad as the one on there wasnt in great nick, so its got fresh coolant and a new water pump, auxillary belt and tensioner (£200 on its own!)

I replaced the temp sender for the fuel injection

It has been lowered, front shocks are Bilstein, rear still has the SLS as far as I know. Rides nice, doesnt crash over bumps.

It will come on the original cosworth wheels, standard grill (with new badge) and lights, as in some of the pictures. Comes with the half leather interior, although the driver seats inside cloth has a rip.

Brakes are recent.

Its been sitting unused for a couple of months now, and since then it runs a little lumpy on startup, I'd say an engine mount is on its way as the drive can be a little jerky. The engine does leak a small amount oil, I suspect its coming for the rocker gasket. The rear bushes are worn and could do with replacing (euro car parts do a kit for £90 for all 10 arms with bushes) I just haven't got the time at the moment. The car has been written off in its time, I saw this as a slight good as at least the rear quarters have been done and dont need replacing! The car and boot floor is straight. Minimal rust and generally in good condition for a 22 year old car.

I will give it a clean, and get some more pictures asap.

It has been looked after in its time, it was a Mercedes enthusiasts staff car previously, and has had alot of money spent on it. I'm trying to get more info on this as we speak. Is a lovely car, just needs a bit of time spent on it.
