reason i buy part worn tyres from my supplier because there near enough new, litrally the tyres still have the plastic injection bobbles still on them, i picked up a set of 195/45/15 toyo proxeys for £80 for a set, in good condition with no cracks etc only prob is that i have to ring my supplier 2 weeks in advance for him to source me a set its not a major prob tho unless ure organised

As a few people have said, wouldn't pay half price for half tread, I'd expect nearly new for less than half price, and have ran four sets of part worns in just under 2 years of driving and never paid more than one would cost new for 4

I bought some Eagle F1's off someone on here who had them on a G40, saved myself a fair bit and the tyres were pretty much as new, only 500 ish miles on them. No problems, they're now on a set of wheels I bought off someone else off here, which used to have Nankangs so I swapped them over :-)

Part worns are good for running around on steelies but i wouldnt feel confidant pushing the car hard on anything but decent new rubber. Especially when my tyres cost £30 and the cheapest i have been offered part worns is £15 - £20 just not cheap enough to make it worthwhile imo

I've always bought part worns, minimum £10 for 12 and upto £40 for 18" tyres. I've always go for a set of two named brands on the front or back of the car, never had a blow out of anything. I refuse to pay over £100+ for a tyre and then pay for more valves (when mine are fine), then rebalancing. "quick"fit charge way to much, when you can get the tyres alot cheaper from my-tyres.co.uk, and get them fitted at your local part worn shop for £5 a wheel, FITTED and BALANCED

Might sound like a cheapskate, but its makes sense whether its an old mini or a merc!

i have bought loads of part worns.

i would rather have new tyres but cost is a big factor and i do a lot of mileage.

i always stick to known brands and would never use wanli's or ling longs or stunners or whatever.

as long as you check the general condition of the tyres its fine.
