It is when a friend of mine got a quote of under a grand when she was 17 for a brand new Lotus Elise.

With bell I got insurance on a polo gti fully comp for a grand, considering my history... cheap! Oh, add your parents as named drivers, saves you alot of money with them!

Damn penis tax, it's a load of rubbish if you ask me, girls are only better drivers statistically as less women than men commute, as such, do mainly town miles resulting in smaller crashes, most of which don't require an insurance claim, than the commuters who have big accidents. Hit badgers etc. Will be claiming more and for more money.

Then again, I suppose its how insurance works. Make up a few reasons to charge people more, make more money.

Neither men nor women are safer drivers, it's just that women are more likely to have a fair few little accidents, whereas if a bloke has an accident, they don't mess about.

Yea, I'm pretty sure I heard men actually have less accidents than women, however when men do crash they do a proper job of it...

Anyway they just quoted me £2139.42 on a mk.4 1.4CL with my dad as a named driver with his IAM full Uk license...

i can agree with that. only had 3 acciedents in 6 years. the first was 12 days after my test and i put my chevette in a ditch on its roof, wrote it off. 2nd i put my ax gt in a ditch on its side no further than 100 yards from where i crashed my chevette then i forgot about a junction at the end of a country rd and ploughed my other chevette into a ditch ripping my hs airdam off. apart from them no other dinks ' touch wood'

did you have to declare the accident? couldnt u have just wrote off the car and thats it..

unless u were claiming from insurance?
