need to swap the shocks on our breadvan, id rather not place the stands un the sills incase it mullers em and i cant put em under the rear beam as i need to lower that

any suggestions where the proper position is?

There are to blocks that come out from the floor pan to the rear of the wheel they are hollow inside but were used as part of the mounting for a towbar I've jacked off them before

Or off where the axcel mounts and pivots

Get some wood and make up some mounting blocks for between the axle stand and the normal sill jacking points. :)

Yep that's what I did. It can be a bit of a pain to make up but you only have to do it once and then its all good. you can also cut slots in the bottom of the wood for your axle stand prongs (if you have any)

Watch out if you make them from 2x2, it splits really easily and will then muller your sill.

I did that once, then my dad didn't realise what they were when he was tidying the bench so he threw them out.

I just balanced mine on the brackets that hold the axle on. Cause it hangs slightly lower than the axle itself. You need the right type of axle stands though, the ones where the edges are raised but the centre is dipped in quite a bit.

Haha we use the pikey way, the two tiny projections either side of the sill - one is right by the filler neck.

Always makes for some slightly hairy fun if the grounds not level...
