Much better than the standard ones i think, and the ebay jobbies probably work out cheaper than getting standard ones since theney dont need replacing half as often!

People are stupid?

No its probably becuase halfords dont stock them and i guess some people cant be bothered. Some people might not know you can get them becuase most new VAGs come with them and people just fuigre you cant get them for the older ones???

I get these ebay ones for about £18 a pair inc postage, i usually use the same seller. Got them on my last car and my set for the polo just arrived this morning there. They are freakin sweet, look good and work better than standard and are cheaper too whats not to like lol

Edit: even if you dont trust the unbranded ones like i got the good ones like bosch and stuff are still quite cheap on ebay.

Most people who I know who've got them say they are much louder than stock ones. I think its something to do with them being a harder/different compound.

I know mine are louder than the stock Bosch jobbies it used to have.

So theres one reason why you chose normal ones over aeros.

Some of the retro-fit aeros I've seen dont look like they fit properly, if you want them better to get the Lupo arms as well.

Oh, and dont put them on mk3's, they look SHIT!

imo

£8 from tescos at the mo! Buy one get one free too :)

I was looking at buying a set of these, I bought a pair of Bosche Supers with a spoiler for the same price.

The original style version have been tried and tested for years, they are a good design, they're quiet and with the spoiler they don't lift.

The aero style are good when they are designed for the car, I.E OEM but retro fitting these may cause the motor mechanism to die prematurely.

Another downside, usually seen on cars made for left hand drive markets, such as VW's, is that most blades are designed for left hand drive cars with some manufacturers catering for both left and right. What happens with the is the blade then lifts off the windscreen at speed or failing to press onto the windscreen at all.

The life time of the blades is also much shorter than that of a good quality set of original style blades.

Nah fitted some of the tescos ones today and I gotta say it's a vast improvement on the standard ones, seems a lot quieter and theres a lot less drag, a bargain for £8 me thinks :) They dont look too stylish thou I must say.. but hey wiper blades were never really designed with style in mind

I put some on my Mk3 because the originals lifted off the screen at motorway speeds

Put some on my Mk2 Golf as well because I decided I liked the way they looked

Not gonna bother with the Escort, it's just shit.

aero blades rule, there's no volume difference between them and normal ones either lol

mine are the cheapo jobbies of ebay, work really well.
