Red Mk3 Polo GT

Featured Replies

For sale is my much loved mk3 polo gt on a H plate (1991). Quick sale needed due to buying a new toy - mk1 caddy van!

Tornado Red

Brand new mk2 golf steels (painted black with red rim tape) with plenty of tread on the tyres (recently had 2 new rear tyres with less than 1.5k miles on them)

Badgeless grill (original included in sale)

G40 indicators (original included in sale)

De - trimmed (I have all the original gt trim (minus a one front arch but am including a full set of mk2 arches that means you dont have to have the bump strips on))

K and N air filter

Lowered a bit

103k on the clock

5 months tax, mot expires 20th June 08.

Since I've owned the car I've replaced plugs, oil change, cleaned air filter, new disks, new pads, new clutch cable, lambda sensor.

The shell is very solid there are only a couple of tiny rust spots (smaller than a 5p) which have all been treated properly, all arches sills etc are in good condition.

The paintwork and general bodywork is good, has a small dent on the wing and some overspray on the bootlid which is the only thing that I can say might need minor attention. Otherwise theres the odd small car park ding but for a 18 year old car its in very good condition.

The car has all old tax disks and mot certs, comes with a manual and the last owner detailed all the work he carried out (was a vw enthusiast) however I've got no paper work for this only whats written in the book. The timing belt was changed less than 25k miles ago, also it has a new fuel tank among other things. Also comes with the original handbook.

I am the third owner of this car from new. Its never been owned by boy racers or messed around with only been family owned.

Obviously the car has a short mot I've no doubt it will pass with no problems as its only done less than 3k since its last mot which it passed with no problems, however I need to sell the car fairly quick due to buying the caddy so I probably wont be able to get it re-mot'd.

The tailpipe from the backbox recently fell off ...I've got a standard backbox on order but I've been told it will take a few weeks to arrive.

£600 ovno

I've also got a set of bbs rj's which are in need of a refurb see: http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?...p;#entry1054050 I will do these for £50 with the car if wanted.

The car is located cheltenham ,gloucestershire. I am away fri, sat back sunday evening. You can contact me on 01242 575355 or 07828 189 662

The last owner told me he lowered it 'a bit' . Doesn't look lowered alot to me either but the last owner was a genuine guy so thats what I'm lead to believe! I had intended to drop it more but the caddy is calling so the gt has to go :(

Hi, I've sent you a PM about the car ;)

Please ignore the trim in the first picture this is just to show the mk2 steels that are fitted now and as the car is being sold (I was trial fitting the mk2 arches at the time!)

This car is a is a genuine gt!

I think it looks good on the black steelies :finger: I assume they're 14s? Will hope to pop and see it next week if we can arrange something.

Just looked into insurance and it's not so bad, got no NCB to transfer over (and my current insurer won't do me a deal :( ) so been quoted just under £400 of Confusededed.com (26 in Bristol with 1 no fault claim). Certainly a lot cheaper than a Golf GTi that I had been looking at and a lot more fuel efficient too. I assume that with 75bhp and 730bhp it's not that much slower either, until it loses the fight with the air anyway. My first car was a 1.3 Golf C and it loved to rev but with 55bhp it had to be driven in a fairly spirited manner!

Hope to speak Sunday.

Cheers, AndyC
