I am reluctantly selling my Polo which I have had for 2 & 1/2 years. I bought the car with 60k on the clock to use for work. At the time I had a V6 ST200 and drove 100miles a day to get to and from work. The Polo was bought to save me money and protect the value of my ST. She does 500 miles on a tank of diesel if your on motorways. 450 if you do a lot of town driving.

The Polo has been a great workhorse for me and it will continue to be for its new owner. I have taken the mileage up to nearly 129k. I am now the director of my own company and have an office in walking distance of my home. I can no longer justify the luxury of a car to get to work!

Serviced every 10k (some of which is Merceded Benz!). Always has oil, oil filter, air filter & cabin filter whether listed on service schedule or not. Last serviced at 120k. The cambelt & tensioners were done during the 120k service (so good till 160k). Next service due at 130k but nothing major to do.

At 120k the car had new front discs, front pads, rear drums, rear shoes & rear brake spring set.

Also recently had new exhaust & clutch.

Mot'd until early September. Taxed until the end of September.

I bought the car standard and made it a little more respectable so it has the following spec:

Ronal's (still mint, no kerb marks at all & mcguard locking nuts), -60mm on full suspension kit inc springs & shocks all round by jamex, de badged grill, clear indicators & side reps, smoked rear lenses (replacement units not sh*tty spray tint!), de badged tailgate, black'd dub badge, aero wipers (recent blades), S2000 stubby ariel.

The car has a snap off steering wheel at the moment but was a present which I will be removing. The car will have its original wheel put in (no airbag though) and will be supplied with the steering wheel boss so you can fit a momo wheel or similar straight away.

The vehicle will come with no stereo, speakers etc. Current systems is all Sony (head unit, changer, tweeters, door & dash speakers) bar kenwood 7*10's in stealth shelf & JBL sub with amp. This can be negotioted as part of the deal for an additional figure if you want it to stay in the car.

The car is currently on a private plate which will be retained and the car will revert to its original 1998 R plate.

Bad points: few rust patches but nothing major like a lot I have seen. The bonnet stonechips have caused peeling on the bonnet (pics on request). Could easily be re-painted but never bothered myself as it was just a run about.

Sorry. Just car as a whole I'm afraid. I don't really need to sell it. I'd rather just potter around in it for a while until I can sell the whole thing. The only way I would sell is if I started to break the car. Sadly the wheels are the only expensive part so breaking isn't a viable option.

Bit of a bump up the list too. Car still available and ready for someone. Makes a great daily and looks fairly respectable too!

Looking for a 4 figure offer. Around a grand for the car and 1250 - 1300 with the stereo (head unit, tweeters, sub, amp, 10 disc changer, 7x10's in stealth shelf, door & dash speakers in it if required. All sensible offers invited.

Nice motor. I think the price seems fair with the wheel and suspension setup. Did you find the car sat a bit lower on 60mm due to the engine weighing more that say a 1.4 lump?

It went quite a lot lower than we were expecting but on measurement it was 60mm. It just took less time for the springs to settle. Could do with 80mm on the back really for looks but I prefer a practical set up and thats as much as I dare to avoid road kill etc!

Out of interest how much does this diesel cost to fill up? lovley car mate and id be really interested if insurance wasnt as steep!

I filled it up from rock bottom on the fuel light a few days ago and it was £66. Not cheap but fairly average for a small car now.

In terms of insurance it is very cheap. I use a company called quinn direct. They do not charge me for any of the mods as I haven't tampered with the engine. They do cover them if in an accident or stolen though. Can't say fairer than that.

Price wise the car £1100ovno (no stereo at all). Car with stereo £1400ovno (stereo spec: sony cd head, sony 10disc changer, sony door & dash speakers, sony tweeters, kenwood 7*10's in stealth shelf (320w), jbl amp & 12 inch sub (very clear and punchy).

The car will come with boggo steering wheel as noted in ad (no airbag included). Car currently has a momo wheel which was a present that is being removed. I will supply the steering wheel boss so you can fit an aftermarket wheel if desired.
