Why? why are there such dicks??

How do i get rid of it? i need to check closely in the sun but i think it may be ok?

seems like somehting has rubbed off onto the paint but not keyed keyed, but a long enough line, tried scratchin off with nails and used a towel which had some wax on but didnt do anything, maybe use some wd40, would that get it off?

so was mine trust me do not use solvel autosol on your paint

huh? isnt autosol that stuff u use to polish the rocker cover? or am i wrong? i dont get what u guys are saying?

yeah there seems to be something on the paint it kind of looks a bit rubbery but it isnt, i dont know how to explain it.

If you love you paint don't WD-40 it. G3 + machine polisher.

And no i use autoglym and some other stuff.. have used autosol to remove blemishes on loads of cars thou and it's never fucked any of them

what does wd40 do to the paint?

when i removed the rub strips i used wd40 to loosen the glue yeah it made it rather messy and took me ages washing it off and layers of wax but looks fine now

i dont own one of those machines and all cant afford to get one.

wd40 will be about as much use as tits on a fish, dont listen to kev he clearly doesn't have a clue, try the autosol it wont fuck your paintwork up providing you dont go too crazy with it

But my point is you've never even tried it so how can you pass judgement!?? I've used it on my girlfreind metallic paint before to remove dodgy marks from car parks and it works a treat with no damage to the paint work what so ever. I mean I can understand you aprehensions but providing you dont use too much elbow grease then it will not do any damage to the paint.. epecially to the harder paints that the vag groups use

so what should i do? cant afford the machine so thats out.

look at it in the sunlight it causes swirl marks at the very least :sad:

get some megs#80 job done or megs scratchx if doing by hand only trying to help btw

Don't for fucks sake use autosol, that'll make it worse, its abrasive, its like rubbing cement onto your paint.

Depending on how bad it is, i.e. whether you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, you'll definately have to machine polish it.

If its deep, requiring paint, its a bastard of a job. If not, you might be able to reduce how it looks by giving it a couple of hits with a polishing compound on a machine polisher, not cheap though.

Probably try Sonus FX1 followed by FX2 and FX3, then with a sealant and or a wax over the top.

If you don't think its cut into the paint, maybe try meguiars scratch-x, you can get it from halfords for about £7 iirc, just rub it on by hand and buff off, its very fine abrasive particles might just have enough cut to remove it.

To be honest, if your thinking of using autosol or wd40 (what the fucks that going to do? make the scratch slide off?) your probably best getting somebody who knows what tehy're on about to do it.
