mk1 golf

Featured Replies

was just looking on autotrader and came across this little gem.

anybody reckon you're likely to find a better example than this?

http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/c...mp;max_mileage=

i'd happily trade the 6n in for that and its only 14 miles away.

slow as a barge but then that can be easily fixed, although i wouldn't really care how quick it was if i was driving it.

I would personally say that's a lot of money for a 1.1 Mk1... 5 door...

Stay away from "the scene" and you can still pick up half reasonable GTIs for that money, I just missed out on an early 1.8 GTI locally that was going for £1200 or near offers and the bloke gave it away for £1050.

ah fair enough.

i was only just having a quick look because i dont know what i would have to look for in them, just looked like a bit of a steal other than the engine.

insurance companies wouldn't be kind on me with a gti as I'm only 18 and not passed for a year yet.

6n is just giving me too much trouble atm so looking to get a bit of money and either get finance on a new car or look for an older car, mk3 polo or mk 1 or mk 2 golf and just do it up a bit. still undecided really

If it's as clean as the pics make it out to be, and the mileage is genuine, then it probably isn't a bad price at all.

But most people will always wish they'd just bought a GTI!

yeah i can imagine that.

just only really see gtis on autotrader, none of the lesser mk1 or mk2. and certainly dont see many polos before mk4s on there.

I would say 9 times out of 10 if one is for sale online then the owner probably has a good grasp of how much it's worth

You just need to keep your eyes peeled in local free ads etc!

yeah thats an idea, just gonna have to start looking when I'm capable of getting the money together.

Just how good are mark 1's?? Sorry to hijack but i think I'm about to get one, after selling the polo, just wondering what the pro's/con's wil be when i change? :D
