Hi just picked myself up some of these today

Really not impressed am i deaf or are these crap???? please help seems like the bass isnt upto alot as well infact the original bog standard vw speakers had alot more bass considering taking them back tomorrow anyone got any good suggestions for speakers for me? cause i did not like these just dont sound right

Is lack of amp making them sound poor? although my headunit pumps out alot and have powered other speakers fine

i have these fli 6 speakers and although i realise they are not the best, they ARE value for money at £30 and clearly better across the whole frequency range than the original 6n2 speakers. i do find them trebley (but this is about personal preference anyway) and have to set treble= -2 & bass= 2+ but no need for further bass boost or graphic equaliser.

you can pretty much tell by looking and touching these speakers that they are built to handle more bass than the originals. (assuming the 6n speakers are similar to the 6n2). maybe the originals just work better with your headunit and you need to change that as well

mine cost £180 for 4 sets of components

and can be picked up for £35 - £45 a set now cheap and cheerfull but good quality

I got some alpine typeE's components for 40 flippin quid, sound ace to me, but i aint no sound off/ audiophile like some *looks at mbh69*

Took those back gotta refund and picked myself up a nice pair of JBL's for the exact same price and they are beaaaaast's compared to other ones

i heard those JBLs i personally thought they had less clarity than the FLI 6 and distorted more easily, but there wasnt a huge amount of difference. the main thing is you are happy now so good

jbl's are cheap and cheerfull the jbl stuff is pretty simaler to infinity which i run

they will benefit from an amp though and the distortion / clarity issue will be in how there set up not the speakers them selves

Noone said there was an issue with distortion / clarity, I just had a preference.

Also, the speakers themselves DO affect the sound quality that is the whole point of this post mate!

i don't think anyone on here could notice a difference between alot of bottom of the range components considering they are all pretty simaler in specs and design and probably all made at the same build house

OMG stop arguing I'm sure your speakers are lovely buh i wasnt gettin any bass atall out of ones i had so switched to the JBL's and was much happier leavvve it be lol

i jus wanted some good speakers now i got people killin each other over it lol

but there comparing speakers in different installs and all running in different ways if i was to swap my components for jbl's oz audio, alpine there wouldn't be any noticable differece unless i changed setting where and how there installed etc

components sound so much better installed in a nice sealed enclosure as it boosts power handling and means they have alot more control

and what duff advice do i have ? do you actually know what i do and who i'm associated with ?

Naaaah the death of innocent people for my speakers was not worth it ill think verrrry carefully if i change my speakers again in future lol
