cut down 17 trees and use the logs as rollers?

or use a couple of engine cranes and wheel the thing down there?

thats what i did when i was breaking the polo

push it :p

Strip everything off it, then carry it?

Take the interior, back axle and fuel tank out/off and get 3 mates to grab the other corners and away you go.

A bare shell weighs just over 100 kilos.

My bro could bench press his before we scraped it

If you have no mates, put a couple of skateboards under it and push it

If it's completely stripped at the front end you might be able to wheelbarrow it

stand in the engine bay and do it flintstones style lol.:lol:

when i said it was just down the road i didn't mean as in a few houses, its half way across the estate

kerrly can i borrow your brother?

Do you live in an estate/trailor park where you could leave a car with no engine and it disappears???

well it took 3 of us to lift the old shell off the engine and move it back a foot

and yeah if a car got left any where around here with no engine it it would be cut up and weighed in for scrap before you could say masturbation.

So why worry ?

Maybe he wants to keep the shell?

just find the local bunch of kids and say to them 'dont pick that car up and move it down the road' then go and have a drink 30 mins later presto job done

/\ lol

cant you roll it on a couple o jacks?

engine crane? but stapped to the chassis lol

hook it to another car and just drag it

Maybe he wants to keep the shell?

yeah so he can weigh it in down the road

Probably of no use now.... but wouldn't it have made sense to take it down and then whip the subframe/ suspension off there. Its not a huge task on a mk2!

Lift the front end up with a cpl of mates and jobs a gooden ..

Or use a little trolley under the shell and push it .

Mk2 golf shells really arnt that heavy its suprising .

haha that would be histerical a random golf rolling down the road fallen of its jack with shabberz running behind it

but i would just shove an engine crane in the bay strap it to the chassis legs with them tightening strap things and they will lift the shell up the more you tighten them, then just push it where you want...

Its gonna be strange enough seeing a car without wheels, engine or whatever being pushed along through a housing estate! Gotta be a good solution tho as the speedbumps round that way are bloody annoying!

pallets and wheels... strong roller ones, liek ont he bottom of tool chests.

screw one to each pallet corner, put car on pallet and get pushing.

yeah this shell is the one i want to keep, thing is its just a shell, i've already had to fit my rear axle to it to make it even slightly movable. pushing it on a jack or engine crane (that i also have no access to  ) just wouldn't work due to the fucked up roads around here, plus the fact its up hill.

looks like i'll just have to take the engine off my sub frame and take that down and fit it down there then tow it back and fit the engine, was hoping there would be some way of doing it while still keeping the engine and sub frame together as it would be easier to fit it to the car but hay hoe.

cheers for the ideas tho lads

If it's got no wheels on the front, find a shopping trolley (they only cost a pound), shove it under the front cross member, tie it on and get a few mates to give you a push.

If it's got wheels on, hook up the steering and tow it on a pole.
