i got a set of 4 tyres 185/45/15 Nankang ultra aport NS 2's all in good condition with all about 4 - 5mm tread on, with some very slight rubbing marks only on 2 as they were like this when i bought them

looking for 50 for them as there is still lots of tread on them

regarding the first pic:

they aint rubbing marks buddy. thats from where the tracking will have been out from the car they were last fitted to. just wanna let you know cos they aint legal (3points a piece +fine if you get caught) .... the middle two are fine though.

if you sell them to some as "legal" then they get points etc...they might not be too happy with you.

I'm only looking out for your best interests..........

if they were like that when you got them... maybe have a word with whoever sold them to you.

na, well i bought them with some teledials but the backs kept rubbing on the arches so decided to go for some 165/50's

that is not rubbing. it is the tracking being out from the last car they were fitted to. i dont car what you think of what i know to be correct. but dont class me as someone who is a hater, or someone deliberately out to cause you hastle.... cos I'm not. my initial post was purely stating what i know to be correct, and was posted as advice/caution to yourself and others, saving you any bother, and the buyer points and a fine.

if you dont want to take it as friendly advice then so be it. put them through an MOT and then come back to me and tell me what was said. i can assure you that those two tyres will fail an MOT.

to end on a lighter note.... good luck on selling the two decent tyres

Sorry to do this but Not_so_shaw is correct. Tyres have to have at least 1.6mm of tread on the central 3/4 of the tyre to be legal which these have. However if any part of the tyre is worn through to the secondary rubber then they ARE illegal, the 2 outer tyres in this picture are NOT legal as they are worn through too much and you would get points for having them on your car.

I'm aware of the "DO NOT REPLY UNLESS INTERESTED IN BUYING AN ITEM" however, you are trying to convince members, who may not have the knowledge, that ALL of these tyres are legal and they aren't so I feel it is my duty to point this out.
