I need some tyres to fit these wheels PROPERLY to my Mk3 Polo Coupe

As some of u may be thinking they have, what i can remember people refering to them, "They wont fit cos they've got golf tyres on them."

The "Golf" tyres rub on the suspension on the inside of the wheel, luckly for me i took the car off the road to rebuild the engine and while it was off i noticed there was a nice set of grooves in my sidewall from the suspension which would of eventually worn through and caused a blow out. I take it thats why they dont work.

The car has been lowered all zee way on Phil J's 80/80 kit, plus top caps on the front. i no i will be needing new tyres, but what ones do i need, possible a lil stretch to avoid this rubbing? What size works cos I'm not raising her up!

i've known 185/50/14 and 195/45/14 sized tyres being used.

185/50 would pretty much guarantee no rubbing and fits a 6J rim better than a 195/45

You could also use 165/55 which would be cheaper to buy and again there is no chance of rubbing with this size.

I'm running 165/60 14's on 6jx14 Golf steelies and have no problems at all
