I am in the process of upgrading the brakes on my GT,

Already have VW11 calipers and want to upgrade the master cylinder form 20mm to 22mm

I am pretty sure the 22mm comes on a passat

But which model and manufacturer year??

Also would i have to change the brake servo?

Because i would like to order one soon

It is the Mk2 Golf GTI 16v and I believe the same sorta year Passat (with the same dash as the Corrado)

I managed to get one off a diesel seat terra van I think

Get one from a scrappie dude, they're quite expensive new

16v and G60 Mk2 Golf

16v Mk3 Golf (early ones definately, not sure about late ones)

Passat GTs

Probably a few others.

I wouldn't get a used one. I'll get most things from a scrappy... but brakes, just no.

About £30 from GSF iirc, well worth it.

I got one from GSF, not fitted it yet though. Should be good...but...not sure...current pedal travel is nice with 256mm Girling calipers...will try and see.

the passat one from gsf is around 30 quid and is a 4 outlet jobbie so less fannying around with tee pieces.

My only gripe was it weighs fuck all in comparison to the vw one, but still its going to do the job as well, if not better than a used vw one as most of the seals are shot by now on them.

you will want to get hold of the reservoir of an 8 or 16v mk2 gti, some mk3 golfs and passats as they are different to the polo ones (the two holes on the resi are far closer together )

mk1 golf braided hoses too from gsf for 30 quid or thereabouts will fit and will help promote a more positive braking feel

the M/C on my GT has only 3 outlets... i'm running standard rear drums & G40 calipers with braided lines when i swap master cylinder, do i block the 4th hole or use it, if so what for?

you can get a blanking screw from GSF.

or use a bleed nipple, that way you can bleed the master cylinder aswell (which makes life alot easier for just master cylinder changes)

so is it the 22 or 22.2 one? I'm a bit confused.

Me too....the 22mm one is £64 from GSF, but people are saying it's about £30. The 22.2mm one is £34.20, so that's the one i'm gonna order methinks.....

I'm using a 23,79mm one from a Sharan. Plug and play
