Does the adjustable have any benefits when compared with the PPP one offered in the stage one kit? I realise the PPP one runs OVER the exhaust helping with ground clearance and the eBay one runs UNDER.

I'd have the PPP one, the eBay one will hang down too low and catch on things. The exhaust/cat brace is already one of the lowest points on the car and often takes a lot of abuse...I'd imagine that eBay TCA brace would make it worst.

The lower one is made of ally, so won't take much of a beating. There's no space for a large exhaust (or catalyst!) with one of the straight lower bars like that. Weichers used to do a mild steel one with a special cut-out section to get round that problem, but the ones I've seen on low Mk3 Polos still take a beating and get bent. The PPP one was based on clearance on my car, which runs a 60mm turbo downpipe with catalyst shell - so hopefully there's plenty of clearance for most people.

there sh1t! I've got one on mine replaced with ged brace until i got PPP full adjustable frame they wear through really fast I'm about -65mm so not even low waste of time !!

the only advantage of the ebay one is if you have a bent car

if the ppp one is as built as good as there subframes i would go for that one

ad say ppp, surely the ebay one leaves hardly any ground clearance....it'd end up getting ripped off lol

fuck the ebay one, jesus, will catch on everything (if lowered) and I'm guessing if your fitting it, your car will be lowered, and not that, think next step, its like a direct whack to your tca mounts, lets do some mount bending

i totally agree about clearance. i just wondered if it being adjustable (i.e pulling it even tighter) would make a big difference

I'm currently down either 60 or 80mm (not sure as i bought the springs second-hand) but will be raising soon as i can arrange the monies.. lol

and yes my cat "brace" takes one hell of a beating from time to time.. lol

ill definatly be investing in some PPP products in the near future.. seem like top blokes

see that ebay one has slotted holes...so would move on the slots if the chassis starts to move alot

do they make much differance to a standardish car? mines never gona be a racer but i must admit that area isnt very beefy lol

If anyone wants to see any of our chassis kits (Stage 1, 2 or 3) both Henry & myself will be at BVF from Sat lunch time onwards, we'll have examples of all 3 with us, so please come along and have a chat, will happily talk anyone through the ins & outs of fitting them/ how they're made etc.

Yep, the one on mine has properly taken a beating, personally I would go for the PPP one :-)

I know this is an old post and a long shot, but has anyone got an old PPP 'stage 1' subframe they'd sell? For a Mk2, don't want or need the whole heavy stage 2 subframe, just the TCA brace part, top bit in the photo above
