185/50R14s or 165/55R14s

Featured Replies

Trying to find the best price on 185/50R14s. Any pointers other than Blackcircles, Camskill and Mytyres... anyone able to get them cheaper than about £53 a tyre? Would prefer to avoid 539s but needs must

OR 165/55R14s...

If you can get them at £53 a tyre then you've done better than i've done, mine were about £80 per tyre and that was using a firm that my company uses everyday so it was cheap. I had continentals so don't know what make you were looking at to get that price?

Blackcircles, Yoko A539 - £53

Mytyres, Contis - £65, Fuldas - £57

Looking at about £25 to fit 4 so add £6.25 to those prices.

Just went to have some Bridgestone RE030 165/55R14s fitted to 6J steels and there was nbo chance of it ever going on, the tyre was about half the width. Have gone for 195/45R14 Rainsports instead and they were £10 a tyre cheaper!

Where did you get the Rainsports from?

That's odd regarding the 165/55 Potenzas... I know of a few people running them on 6J steelies, and I've seen a few 165/50-15s on 8.5" rims (obviously thats mega stretch, but they'll go on!)

Still... you'll probably get on better with the Rainsports and if they're cheaper then there you go!

i got 175/50/14s on my 6.5j and they fit a treat!
