my new daily

Featured Replies

Howdy,

well as some of you no after getting a quote on the polo for silly money i ventured back to a series POWEEEER, coming across this on piston heads i just had to have it.. simple :D:lol:

so here it is, I've had it 2 an a half days so not long atall reay soo not had much time to do anything really.

all I've done mod wise (not shoving a bodykit on it e.t.c just subtle bits here and there) is:

a set of 6x12'' revos 2 are refurbed with

moonstone grey centres and polished lip the other two are

std silver and flakey outer lips, i will remove the 5/6 mm spacers that are on the front when i can swop the outer drive flange things for my powder coated mini ones ( no lugs so wheels dont need spacers) and this will bring the wheels in enough hopefully :).

a polished gear knob and a alloy handbrake shaft thats about it so far ;)

anyway enough of that heres pics:

the first set are before i got it and the second set are aftre my mods and that :) and the very final set are after a polish wax and all the trimmings :D

pic heavy sorry

ok i no its not to everyones taste but as a cheap daily and as a test bed/ running in area for my minis turbo k1100 headed 1300 I'm sure it will be perfect, I've had quite as few comments about it being a grannies car but tbh this car is for me no-one else! when all they can see is tyre smoke and rear lights I'm not fussed what they think :-)

Thanks for reading :)

Love it Benjamin :)

Metro Turb FTW!

That's actually pimp. As fuck.

I want a metro. Almost.

Haha, minter. My grandma used to have one, seriously. Was red. Nice motor mate, major kudos! :)

So cool 8-) gotta love grandad mobiles :thumbsup: especially ones that move

Yeah good call on getting rid of the wood wheel and going back to standard, was going to say thats the only thing i dont like before reading you were changing :-D

We should start our own little club, UAP - Under Aged Pensioners :-D

Its pretty pimp, my mate used to have one years ago for his first car. If you get four people in them, they can look low as fook.

Thanks for the comments people, really apreciated as all I've been getting from people i no is uww its a granny car and it will always be slow... meh

and walshy if it involves us getting a pension I'm up for it  I'm an official UAP member then ay...

gna get the hydrogas units out soon lower 3/4" and refit with a good 450psi :p god i have no idea how I'm going to get it up to the workshop... the exhaust catches on the bridge and the entrance now :? btw this is the underside height as std:

will have to roll and possibly pull the arches as its rubbing quite bad when cornering (front and back of front arch :( )

think i need to get that camber sorted too! and the rear tracking its awfully ''toe-in'' hmmmm

EDIT: my old skool sticker was put in the window before too :-)

You legand man !

That is so cool ! 8-)

That is pretty cool actually. How much were your quotes for the Polo? I got some stupid ones initially but shop around for the right deal. If i am being honest tho you will probably have more fun driving this as a first car than a diesel polo.

cheers and after shopping around and either getting refused to be quoted due to my age and not actually having a liscence (soem said they cant quote unless i had one :? ) and the ones i did get were around the 6k mark. so after geting several at that price i thoguth right f**k this... and i got me turbo

wow, i really like this  i actualy want one  looks sweet mate, cant wait to see it in the flesh :D

Looks feckin sweet matey! get some coils cut off asap n it will look the nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers mike

  ye dude if only it were that simple, if it was that easy i would of had it kissin worms a long time ago :p its hydrogas (airbags) so i need to depressurise the system, remove bags shorten the bars in them refit re pressurise e.t.c until I'm happy A LONG ASS JOB.

as soon as i can it will be on the ground, tbh thats somehting that can wait as the scrubbing is messing up the tyres rather rapidly!

I thought you could just stab a screwdriver in the bag to deck it. No suspension ftw

 you can dump the hydro fluid until your happy but it will be all wollowy (sp) and poo then so it has to be done properly imo so you dont get scrubbage which I've got already  I've found a guide on how to make my own hydropump setup and its going to cost uww maybe £20... so i will have it done soon 8-)

Thats Cool!

Love it!

to be honest. i fooking love it! ha not too keen on the steering wheel and gearstick but hey thats just me for you :p how much does it owe you?

cheers again people, well the gearknob i think is great BUT the gaiter has gone TU due to the shape, so I'm having to buy more lather the same colour as the handbrake gaiter and i will make a gear gaiter. the car owes me well doesent matter does it! and the same for the turbo (everything to turbo) :p all the other bits and bobs were off ma other mini.

sweeeeeeeeet cant wait to see this.

I've been offered one of these for free, might just have to get it now seeing how pimp yours looks :D

Also I think you should pm me that hydropump guide so I can use it in the future :p

When i bought a black Austin Metro,it was four years old. It was lowered right down on its metric steels, which tucked right up in the arches, looked menace.

But it lasted nine months, when i sold it for spares on its third engine. They're crap.

You need narrower wheels imo,i think the originals are better, and why replace the standard sports steering wheel? Best part of the interior.

i've only just found this, been wondering why there was fmic in your avatar lately! you bad mumma jumma its amazing!

Pm'ed goose :p
