if its still on take the rear bumper off - looks mint wihtout it

I've spent aaaages smooothing that mate hahaha, had a plate recess and fogs so thats definatly staying :p plus its got a dent on the nearsie bumper to body mount where its had a bump so i kinda cant :-(

  • 2 weeks later...

the lawnmower has new shoes! 10" diameter and a fair few inch winder than whats on atm, there 5x10's atm but wont be for long thats all I'm saying.

some back shots but I'm keeping the fronts quiet til there on :-) its abit obvious still though

2 in 1 coat of high build, the fronts wont get sprayed up until they have had there ''work''

and one sprayed with coat of 1 filler primer and 1 moonstone grey, same colour as my renault turbines if youve seen them in my mk4 thread and also the same colour as whats already on the metro :-) its not a perfect finish but its the back... its not all that important

to house these bad boys I'm going to need arches (wider than the turbo kit i think) , so I've put my wood and pickett fibreglass mini arches upto the car and damn.. they look about right width wise but not a perfect fit around the arch, i will see what i can do with them i think ;)

electrical taped arches ftw

electrical taped arches ftw

8-) 8-) seconded!

looking uber pimp as usual ben! keep us updated :D

haha its the future :p

it was that or masking tape and its bright cream so it woudl of stood out abit much ;) wils ee how/if i cna fit them as the mounting lip in underneath and i ahve to cut that off so they dont rub on the tyres...... i may also just run uber stretch and hope for the best ;)

those wheels your refurbing are rude as fuck and mini arches for the win, sportspark arches are by far the titties but rock the leccy tape fo sho behatch

haha cheers dude, going for there ''work'' in a fortnight hopefully :-)

sportspack have the bumper recesses so they loked crap so tried these instead, duno hwo I'm gan get tehm to fit, night vibroglas some threads inside and use the std TURBO kit mounts.... wel shall see, may pull m arches more and run like that.

i pulle dthe front on the nearside more yesterday and bent the rear lower 1/4 panel ist that far out, sorted now popped it back out

well update time (AGAAAAAIN)

welded up the boot wiper hole and my offside turbo wing now doesent have a aerial hole as i dont have a radio and doesent have a side repeater hole, all gone!

the nearside door lock will go and also the spare LHD wiper holes, will see what else i can weld up after that

in my rush to get them welded up i had a slight accident though, welding up the side repeater hole i sent the grass it on on fire, wasent a problem to start until it got quite bad and was quite a fire going, picked up the wing from the side repeater plate wheer it has JUST been welded and where it was on fire.....

the smell of burning and the sticky finger situation hit me, not being able to put the wing down due to tools all over the place (dont want burnt tools ofcourse) i melted my fingers to the wing to the point of letting go of the wing and pulling skin off my fingers making them bleed, now there blistered and sore as hell!

all in the name of progress however :-) at this point it wa stime to pack up for the day and take pics tomorrow ;)

this info is all useless without pics :p

sick looking metro

this info is hurting to type

i can go get pics if you want, actually will go get some just for you ;)

uploading as we speak give me 2 mins, i will add now before anyone sais it looks pikey , the bootlid has only had paint as it was bare steel no filler e.t.c the wing has had filler ont he top and i ran out when it came to the side repeater area so it needs another going over.

and where are your fingerprints then?

looking good ben! cant wait to see this all finished 8-)

Cool DIY work

Hopefully this thing should be on the road soon so you can pay us a visit in it some time 8-)

technically it can be ont he road now, i darent drive it though

wheel arches next on the list of things to do, then ALL the filler work at once. filling is truely something i detest but.. it has to be done i will just put it off as long as i can, it woudl probably be easier doing all the jobs as i do them but it means i can get it done in a week or so then spray can go streight on :-D

fooking hell man, dont worry about damaging your tools you fool when htings are on fire and dont forget to keep a couple of pales of water nearby. you can never be to careful when your welding, I've scalded myself enough times without ever going near a welder to know they equal a shit load of danger.

filling is long, you have to have the kind of mind for it, i cant believe yo u dont iwth your little OCD flexs and as for painting my engine bay, hahahah fuck it, i aint taking that engine out fo the car again in a hurry haha
