hi guys,

havnt been on here in ages but id just like to ask you guys some advice.

- i have a mk2 breadvan polo and want to get some more out of it... i have a friend who has put a 4.5 auto jag engine in his camper.. he is a quality mechanic...

how much work would it be to put either a 1.6 8v driver or 1.8 8v golf engine in?

- also fit coilovers to help with the wieght ..... also new roll bars...

- what brake up grades on 13" wheels

any sorta help/advice would be great.

If your mate is putting a Jag engine in a camper then putting a 1.8 Golf lump engine into a Polo will be a piece of piss

It's not the easiest conversion, but he sounds capable!

On 13" wheels the G40/Mk1 GTI brakes are normally the best plan unless you get lucky and your 13s can clear 256s.

-i have some 13" bbs wheels on at the mo so ill try mk1 golf gti brakes... Are the hubs the same??

-also can i get coilies for a mk2 breadvan?!?!?

coilovers are available but not exactly cheap, most affordable place i've seen them is Polo Performance Services

Would probably be easier to fit the 1.4 16v out of a Mk4 Polo, given that you'd only need to make minor changes to the mounts...where as those bigger Golf engines would require a sub-frame of some description to be fabricated?
