Right so I said earlier here is the new thread! Why X file well it is an X Reg so I thought I'd try and be smart...no...fine I'll get my coat then.

So here we go, the car is a Polo 1.4 Match X Reg picked up for £200.00 with some side damage and clear on insurance, it's got an electric sunroof front windows are electric and came with a Sony headunit installed.

The plan is to repair it and get it back on the road for my missus as that is who it is for...it will however recieve a few tweaks here and there...she'll never notice...

It's a company car so I can't touch it at all, otherwise it would be a monster.

Dont look tooooooooo bad just hope there no nasty suprises waiting behind the wing/door for you...

other wise it just a case of doors and wing off bit of fun with hammers :D then new doors and lick of paint :D

even if it cost you £800 still a VERY VERY cheap car (i dont reakon would cost too much more if pros did it)

good luck!

Have Haynes will fix... ...as I have said already the Polo is for her indoors so any mods will be mild or virtually unseen...OEM+...is what I going to look at doing.

This is where your help will definitely be needed...could people post up any links or point me in the direction of OEM+ Polos and or a definitive guide to doing OEM+ properly.

Thanks in advance

x reg for 200 squid! bargin

Too right mate... :-D ...just waiting to hear back from Lew90 to see if I can pick up the two doors he has for sale...found a wing for it just down the road from my place so should be ready to spray all the panels within the next week or two and refit after I've done the A pillar repair.

*NOTE TO SELF*

BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THINGS TAKE NOTE OF WHERE THERE MIGHT BE FASTNERS, THAT WAY YOU WON'T HAVE TO REPLACE PARTS THAT ARE IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER...

So this is where I'm at now...

The yellow circles show where there is damage that can be seen with the wing off, so far so good, nothing terminal...yet...will have the doors off next weekend as I've got a load of work on this week so may not have the time to do it till then.

The doors are jammed shut so I'll have to have a nosey and see how can get them open and off without damaging any of the good metal around them.

In the meantime I'll be giving all the exposed bits of undercarriage a good clean as everything is filthy... :tear:

...so I'm hoping I'm not the only one that can't leave well enough alone... :-D ...so I managed to get the doors opening and closing without much brute force and I have taken more pics of the damaged area...

There is some damage but thankfully nothing terminal although it may look it from the outside, I have to have a word with a mate of mine to see when we can get it down the shop to sort it out then it is time to put it back together and then I can start sourcing parts for the OEM+ modding to start...she'll never notice... :unibrow:

Hopefully I'll be able to put up pics of the repairs soon.

Just got back in after my trip to Manchester to collect the doors from Lew90...blew the Turbo on the Golf on my way up to the office in Derbyshire so ended up getting the Pool Car from the office...a FOCUS...pick up the wing on Saturday.

Will hopefully have everything ready to get sprayed up end of next week just need to arrange to get the car to the workshop for the sill repair...soon Stage 1 will be done.
