Mazda 3 or Ford Focus?

Featured Replies

Right my grandads getting a new car on Motability and he's got it down to these two. He's asked me to find as much as I can about both. Can anyone help me out with any experience etc they've had with either? Cheers

The ones he's looking at are:

1.6 Mazda 3 Takara, and either a 1.6 or 1.8 Ford Focus Zetec.

You would get a gear a car because of what the top gear presenters say!? .. That has gotta be one of the saddest things I've heard in a while!!

Focus Zetec all day, they're good cars.

Mazda 3 because it's the same car

Mazda 3 because it's the same car

They are pretty much from all accounts when it comes down to it

Except what I've found, Focus apparantly feels better to drive, but the Mazda 3 has more specs inside.

Not helpful at all.

focus, more respect lol

mazda :) ford focus' often fail mot's on rear axle bushes and stuff which are a bitch to do. where as japanese and stuff like daewoos dont really fail on anything

stuff like daewoos dont really fail on anything

 Are your talking about the same daewoos that have the build quality of a kinder egg toy?

I repeat

They are the same car

Daewoos don't fail MOTs? Why is there 2 new style number plate (max 7 years old) Daewoos in my local scrappers with terminal rot?

I've been driving a 1.6 zetec focus recently, and i cant fault it, rate comfotable

the only thing most daewoos fail on is brake pipes or wishbones. thats nothing compared to every ford i see that needs loads of welding done. i would like a ford. but it would have to be completely mint. but even then it would be like a capri or something.

 You do have a point

I've got a W reg escort with signs of rust setting in!

I had an M reg escort and it didnt have a speck of rust on it anywhere, where as my dads R reg nexia is falling apart around him

dont get me wrong i love most cars. except french. lol i would have one of those ford sport ka's there a 1.6 and weigh just less than a lupo gti i think. but what puts me off fords is. stuff like 04 plate ka's with rust and stuff. and 2001 fords with so much rust thru the boot floor you actually put your hand through the whole :(

Saying that you'd own a ka shows that u clearly have no idea what you're talking about! especially a sport ka!!

I never realised a Mk3 Polo was voted best in it's class for handling?

Oh MOT's/long life issues arn't a problem. Motability replace the car every 3 years with a brand new one

i dont like ka's I'm just saying i wouldnt want to be in a race against one.
