parking ticket details incorrect

Featured Replies

yesterday i pulled over on double yellows as it was packed to run in and get a mcflurry (strawberry cornetto highly recommended :-D!!!). when i got back to my car there was a community support officer writing out a parking ticket.

on the ticket under 'model' she put estate. i have a normal polo 6n. does this make the ticket void? if it does how do i go about getting off it? thanks for any help, jay

You could try and appeal against it but tbh i don't think you'll get away with it!

They usually take a photo of the car anyway!

I personally wouldn't try appealing it.. sounds like you deserve the ticket, parking on double yellows just to get a mcflurry!? Then u probably drove away whilst eating it?.. (which you're lucky u didn't get pulled for!)

VOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was it a community support officer or a traffic warden. Because if it was a community support officer then since when do they have the power to issue you a ticket? The one's in my area don't i've never heard of that before

mate just pay it.

i got a ticket that said make jaguar, model na, colour other.

i drive a mercedes, its obviously black.

if it was a ticket warden then i would pay but i 2 aint eva heard of community support dishing out tickets abd theres loads round my way/????

i know that up here in bonny scotland, well in certain areas at least, if there's any inorrect details on the ticket whatsoever then its a void and you dont have to pay a penny.

my mum USED to be a senior traffic warden!!!

oooooooooooh

i would say best bet is just to pay it. Sometimes it pays off to argue the toss, then other times it drags on and you end up paying a fortune. not worth the hassle i would say.

Expensive mcflurry at the end of the day

Why pay if you dont have to?

I would suggest to pay then appeal, as I didnt pay then appealed and lost then it was well expensive..

So pay it apeal it, and you MIGHT stand a chance..

Granted parking a yellow to get a mcflurry is a bit bad.. But still, I'm sure most people would do worse if they could get away with it!!!!

Good Luck.. Be interested to know how you get on....

rather than start a new topic, heres my dilemma.

i parked in lidl carpark as its free for about 1 hour as i popped into town.

i came back and the guy had just put a parking ticket on my car.

now, he hadnt filled in half the details on the slip, including the reason for the ticket, put it as a vw golf, didnt fill in who it was that put the ticket there.

now, its £40 i could use for other things. have i got a leg to stand on complaining???

also, couldnt i say that my gf or mother went into lidl whilst i went into town?

sorry if i hijacked the thread, but ever so related. thanks!

I know its not quite the same thing but my mate got done for speeding a while back. The police people (man & women) BOTH got several details wrong on the form (vehicle model, road name, date) but my mate signed it anyway oblivious. Next day the same 2 coppers appeared at his door asking him to sign an amended copy as they got some details wrong and well, he told them where to go!

I'd say that they only got the description slightly wrong in your case as if the number plate they wrote down is correct, they'll still have your details.

Just cough up the £40 and learn your mistake.

say they were shopping band if they dont void the ticket you wont shop there again

as for the wrong model being o the ticket, appeal, you wont pay more if it gets rejected because they freeze the fine so you dont go over the 14 day period and pay double.

what you want to do is go and speak to the store manger to get em to drop it. if u dont pay it then some bastard private parking companies will be sending you millions of letters and threatening to send the bailiffs round.

i got a parking ticket 12 month ago now. left it till i got a letter saying i need to pay, dispute or go to court i filled it in saying i was not parked illegally, i never got a ticket, and i wanted proof before i payed anything. thats the last i heard.

i got a parking ticket in a small carpark with a 3 hour maximum stay and on the ticket it said that it had been seen from 12.03 till 4.18 and i got a ticket - but i got off with it because i had a train ticket and the train was delayed by over an hour so i should have arrived in time to get back to the car. i had the valid train ticket - they checked how long it should have taken, contacted scotrail and found out how long it did actually take and i got off with it.....

even though my car had actually been there since about half 8 :D

I got one once and they put the wrong road name on the ticket. Send it off to appeal and never heard anything after! That was a couple of years ago.
